Exploring Deokgye Library in Yangju: A Community Gem

Deokgye Library Children's Section, Yangju City Library
Hello!
I'm a Yangju City SNS supporter.
As a Yangju City SNS reporter, I've been visiting public facilities in various parts of the area.
This time, I visited the Yangju Deokgye Library located in the Hoicheon 2-dong Community Service Center.
I was curious about how residents actually use the library and what the space configuration is like. I'd like to introduce this library because it was better organized than I expected.

From spaces for infants and children to adult reading rooms and digital reading rooms, each floor is divided according to its purpose, making it easy for users to navigate.
Outside the building on the first floor, there is an unmanned return machine, making it easy to drop off books regardless of operating hours.
Deokgye Library is located on the 7th and 8th floors of the Hoicheon 2-dong Community Service Center.
✔️Library card issuance is on the 8th floor.
7th Floor Information
First, the 7th floor has a children's reading room/infant/multicultural resource room for children.
The Infant/Toddler & Multicultural Resource Room has low bookshelves and comfortable seating throughout.
With curtains and reading cushions, the configuration is tailored to children's eye level, making it great for visiting the library with children.
A separate nursing room, a small independent space called 'Whisper Zone,' and a multicultural resource corner are all carefully designed for both children and parents to use comfortably.
What stood out was the book-reading robot 'Luka' rental service.
If you rent it at the information desk, the robot recognizes the sticker on the cover of the book in the children's room and automatically reads the book.
It can also be linked to a smartphone, and can be rented for up to 2 hours, which seemed useful for helping children read.
8th Floor
The 8th floor has a comprehensive reading room and a digital reading room for adult users.
Books such as literature, history, and foreign languages are organized, making it easy to find materials, and there is a separate material search corner equipped with a PC for searching.
There is also a DVD rental corner.
There are high table seats with good lighting by the window, making it good for working on a laptop or organizing writing.
The general reading seats also had wide spacing, making it sufficient for studying in a quiet atmosphere.
There was a separate laptop corner, so there was no inconvenience in using electronic devices.
Digital Reading Room Operating Information
✔️Restrictions on using game and entertainment sites
✔️Magnification and reading programs installed for the visually impaired
✔️Seat 23 is a priority seat for the disabled
✔️No food allowed
The usage regulations are clearly stated, so it seems possible to use it in a quiet atmosphere.
Magnifying glasses and silent mouse rental services are also available.
There were water purifiers and paper cups in the hallway.
Although it is difficult to bring drinks into the library, it was convenient to have a separate space where you can drink water while studying.
Yangju Deokgye Library is not very large, but the functions are clearly divided by floor, making it a practical local library that is good for using according to your purpose.
The infant and children's reading room is designed for children, making it easy for families to visit, and the 8th floor comprehensive reading room has a quiet atmosphere where you can study and work on your laptop.
It is a good public library to visit for those looking for book lending or study space in Deokgye-dong and Hoicheon area.
