Exploring Art Exhibitions with Seoul Art Guide
I visited the Onyu Gallery exhibition and picked up a copy of the Seoul Art Guide magazine.
After looking at the paintings at the gallery, I took a break and browsed through the August exhibitions in the magazine.
Seoul Art Guide is a periodical that you can often pick up for free at galleries and similar places. I mainly use it to check out exhibition information and browse through the pretty exhibition posters.
I think I've seen this magazine a few times before, and it's nice that they distribute it at galleries.
I mainly focus on the pictures, like looking through a regular magazine.
I think I started picking it up around June... and there are so many exhibitions I want to go to.
Marc Chagall's work is characterized by its unique and colorful palette, with a hint of melancholy.
Blue is known as the color of 'depression' in the West, which I, as a blue enthusiast, never understood.
But after seeing Chagall's paintings, I finally understood. How could he use such a gloomy blue so beautifully?
I love paintings with colors that appeal to me, so I've saved this exhibition to check out later.
I used to go to the Seoul Arts Center often, but since moving to Anyang, it's not so easy... which is a shame.
But that exhibition is in Seongnam... and I think Seongnam is reasonably accessible.
If it's not Seoul, the traffic shouldn't be too bad, so it's worth a drive. Plus, the exhibition runs for a long time.
The overall poster, true to the phrase 'Like a Child,' is dynamic and vibrant, like energetic children.
Looking at the poster, it reminded me of IKEA's children's furniture.
I also wanted to visit this exhibition at the children's book art museum.
The painting has a folded paper feel. I like fairy tales and pop-up books... I've saved it and I'm thinking of visiting the closest exhibitions first when I have time.
That exhibition is in Jeju Island....
I really like Jeju Island, but going all the way to Jeju just for an exhibition is a bit much.
If I happen to go to Jeju Island before October, I'll have to check it out.
I've seen pet festivals or pet fairs at COEX, but what kind of exhibition is that? I'm curious...
It was one of the exhibitions I wanted to visit the most.
I guess that's a plant-related exhibition. Maybe something to do with gardening...
The poster feels more bio-related than plant-related. Looking at the picture, I thought of cells, culture medium, DNA, spores... and so on.
The poster had a very unique feel. The diverse colors caught my eye, but it's not really my style... haha.
The Kim Daeyun Retrospective is only being held this month.
The poster has a similar feel to the Marc Chagall one I saw above. Although it feels a bit brighter than Chagall's.
Maybe it's because they used similar materials like pastels to create the paintings, which gives it a similar feel.
I only know Chagall's name and a few paintings, but nothing else... haha.
I really want to visit the Kim Daeyun Retrospective and the Time of Dogs and Cats exhibition.
After looking it up, the Picasso Gallery is in Busan... and the Time of Dogs and Cats is in Jeju Island... ㅜ.ㅠ boo...
There was information about galleries by region, and I wondered if there was a list of galleries in Anyang... but.
They were just grouped together as Others, Gyeonggi, and Incheon... It doesn't seem like there are any galleries located in Anyang.
I was hoping that Onyu Gallery would be listed since it's quite large... but it wasn't there. lol.
Maybe it's a kind of advertisement, and the galleries in Anyang didn't really advertise.
The National Museum of Korea is really popular these days.
Manamoana... that's an exhibition I've wanted to go to for a while.
I'm hesitant because I heard the National Museum is so crowded these days.
I also want to visit that photo exhibition with the unusual composition that gives it a unique feel.
Maybe it's a photo taken from the perspective of an artwork, showing people admiring the art.
Are those real visitors... or actors?
Will I find out if I go to the exhibition?
