Exploring the Charming Village of Seongnae in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do

Nohseongdang was built in 1855 during the reign of King Cheoljong and served administrative functions in the Impi region. It is believed to have housed documents like the list of former officials and the county magistrate's guestbook.
Historically, it also played a role in regulating boats crossing the river at Shincheongjin on market days. It was a gathering place for scholars to recite poetry and enjoy cultural activities, making it a central hub for local culture and administration.
Today, Nohseongdang functions as a community center for local seniors, seamlessly blending tradition with modern life.
Between Impi Hyanggyo and Gunsan Nohseongdang, you will find the Impi Chae Man-sik Library, a public library opened on March 2, 1997, named after local novelist Chae Man-sik.
