Experience Traditional Korean Healing at Yeongcheon Hanui Village
경상북도 영천시 천문 485

Yeongcheon Hanui Village is a space created as a traditional Korean house complex.
It embodies the five internal organs that govern our body's circulation and communication.
Various exhibitions and experiences are available here.
Among them, I participated in a foot bath experience.
Yeongcheon Hanui Village is equipped with exhibition spaces, accommodation, and dining facilities.
Upon entering Yeongcheon Hanui Village, the first thing you will see is the herbal medicine theme street.
The herbal medicine theme street consists of:
1. Yeongcheon Promotion Center
2. Hanui Clinic
3. Traditional Herbal Medicine Shop
4. Herbal Experience Room
Directly opposite the Herbal Experience Room is the event hall, which features a foot bath.
Before visiting the foot bath, it's advisable to stop by the Hanui Clinic to check your body constitution.
Inside, you can observe the process of herbal medicine diagnosis and preparation through models.
There are also various diagnostic machines available to check your body constitution.
After answering several questions, you will receive results indicating your body type.
I was identified as a 'Taeyangin' (a body type).
Remember your body type and proceed to the foot bath area.
This is important as they provide foot bath solutions tailored to your constitution.
After checking my body type, I moved to the foot bath area.
The Yeongcheon foot bath area is welcoming, featuring a cute bear that greets you.
The facility can accommodate multiple people for the experience.
Group reservations are common, so it's essential to book in advance.
I also made a reservation through the website before my visit.
If there are available slots, on-site ticketing is possible.
The Yeongcheon foot bath operates at 11 AM, 1 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM, 4 PM, 5 PM, and 5:30 PM, totaling seven sessions, with a lunch break from 12 PM to 1 PM.
The foot bath fee is 6,000 KRW, with various discounts available.
Discounts include those for residents of exchange cities, multi-child families, independence activists, and local residents.
I received a 2,000 KRW discount as a multi-child family, paying only 4,000 KRW.
Proof of eligibility and identification is required for discounts.
The benefits of the foot bath include improved sleep, boosted metabolism, waste elimination, and relief from cold hands and feet.
Foot bath solutions are provided based on body constitution, with four types: Taeyangin, Taeumin, Soyangin, and Soeumin.
As a Taeyangin, I received a foot bath solution made from 'Cheonggung,' which is effective for improving blood circulation.
On the day I visited, a group of mothers came for the foot bath experience.
Due to the popularity of group reservations, it's best to book your desired time in advance.
When it's time for your experience, you will be guided in.
Upon entering and seating, the staff will explain how to use the facilities.
Since the water is hot, avoid putting your hands in while filling the bath, and check the temperature before soaking your feet.
After soaking your feet, add your personalized foot bath solution to the water.
This will create bubbles as it dissolves in the hot water.
The foot bath experience lasts about 15 to 20 minutes.
To retain warmth, cover your feet with a towel provided.
If the water cools down, you can refill it with warm water, but be cautious as the faucet may be hot.
High temperatures can have adverse effects, so enjoy the foot bath at a comfortable temperature.
The foot bath timer is set for 20 minutes, and an alert will sound when time is up.
Afterward, drain the water and rinse your feet with running water.
After drying with a towel, you can apply moisturizer, though many find their feet smooth enough from the foot bath solution.
After the foot bath, I felt refreshed and less fatigued.
If you visit Yeongcheon Hanui Village, be sure to try the foot bath experience.
