Experience the Excitement of the 2026 East Asia Cultural City Festival in Andong

Hello!
Today, I bring you the long-awaited
'2026 East Asia Cultural City Andong' festival
with fresh reviews from the first day.
On May 1st, Labor Day, the entire Andong was buzzing with festival excitement.
Having attended in person, I was amazed by the incredible sights, tastes, and experiences!
Let me share the vibrant atmosphere with you!
1. The Festival Begins with Joyful Traditional Performances
As soon as I entered the Andong Mask Dance Park, I was captivated by the lively sounds of traditional performances from various regions of Andong.
The performers gathered to showcase the spirit of Andong, the 'City of Tradition.'
The infectious rhythms had everyone dancing and elevated the festival atmosphere in no time.
Adding to the excitement were the stunning performances by the K-play troupe, which left the audience mesmerized.
The modern reinterpretation of our traditional culture was impressive, captivating not only foreign tourists but also the children present.
2. A Feast for the Senses!
Food is an essential part of any festival!
This festival truly lived up to its name as 'East Asia Cultural City,' featuring signature dishes from Korea, China, and Japan prepared and sold on-site.
With kiosks and order stations, it was easy to order and enjoy delicious food.
The variety of unique dishes reflecting each country's specialties made choosing quite enjoyable.
However, I was a bit disappointed that the popular handmade sausage-making experience was already fully booked when I arrived around 6 PM.
If you're planning to visit next time, make sure to arrive early to secure a spot!
3. Nostalgic Memories with Mom Caturi and the 7080 Newtro Zone
Throughout the park, I encountered character sculptures of 'Mom Caturi,' a pride of Andong, which delighted children as they queued for photos.
Personally, the 7080 Newtro Zone captured my heart.
From retro telephone booths to nostalgic ice cake sales, it offered a delightful experience for both parents and our generation.
The photo zones exuded Newtro vibes, perfect for Instagram moments!
4. The Flavors of Andong
The Andong soju booth was impressive, with opportunities to taste and purchase for gifts.
Elderly attendees enjoyed the deep flavors of Andong soju.
Additionally, there were numerous interactive booths for children.
5. Traditional Food Fair with Chef Yeogyeong Lee
6. A pre-show performance by the Andong City Choir.
7. The Highlight of the Opening Ceremony!
The concert featuring Jang Min-ho and La Poem was absolutely amazing!
The opening ceremony started at 7 PM and was a true spectacle.
The heavenly voices of La Poem filled the Andong night sky, creating an unforgettable experience.
The blend of tradition, modernity, and classical elements made this performance memorable.
As a finale, a fireworks display capped off the night.
The festival continued until Children's Day on May 5th, so make sure to visit Andong during the holidays next year!
I plan to return for more delightful experiences!
Let's meet in Andong!
