Experience the Excitement of Jangsaengpo Wales Kart

I had the opportunity to experience the Jangsaengpo Wales Kart, which is set to officially open on June 5th.
This place was so much fun that I believe it can truly become a landmark in Ulsan.
Located inside the Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Special Zone, the Wales Kart is visible as you enter Whale Square.
Being the first circular-powered magnetic levitation kart in the country made me even more curious, and riding it felt completely different from regular karts.
It glides smoothly along the rails, providing a sense of stability that exceeded my expectations.
The operating hours are from 10 AM to 6 PM, with the last entry at 5:30 PM. There are also safety inspection breaks at 9 AM, 10 AM, 12 PM, and 1 PM, during which the ride is not operational.
Before boarding, a thorough safety briefing is conducted. Solo riders must be at least 130 cm tall, while children between 105 cm and 129 cm can ride with a guardian.
For two-person rides, the combined weight limit is 150 kg, making it suitable for families to enjoy together.
What I was most excited about was the course, which turned out to be more fun than I expected. The total length is an impressive 1,050 meters, with various points of interest along the way that kept it engaging.
The course includes:
1. Whale Sculpture Park
2. Hydrangea Garden
3. 360° Continuous Spin
4. Lavender Garden
5. Jangsaeng Eternal
6. 720° Spin
As you start, you'll see the Whale Sculpture Park, and shortly after, you will enter the Hydrangea Garden section, which is even more beautiful with seasonal blooms.
The Lavender Garden section offers a completely different atmosphere, providing a healing vibe along with views of the Jangsaengpo sea, making you feel like you're truly in Ulsan.
Then there's the sudden 360-degree continuous spin section, which felt like a ride with a surprising speed that made it thrilling.
The maximum speed reaches about 40 km/h, but it felt even faster during the ride.
Personally, the most impressive parts were the Jangsaeng Eternal and the final 720° spin. The moment you enter the tunnel, the atmosphere changes, creating an immersive experience, and the last spin was so enjoyable that I kept thinking about it afterward.
For those who are pregnant, have cardiovascular issues, spinal, or skeletal diseases, or are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, there are restrictions on boarding, so I recommend checking in advance.
The safety measures felt more thorough than expected, which was reassuring. The minimum speed is about 10 km/h, making it suitable for children without being too scary, and the ability to control the speed allows everyone, young and old, to enjoy it.
What I loved most was that it wasn't just about riding the kart; it was combined with the Jangsaengpo tourism experience. You can also enjoy the surrounding Whale Culture Village and seaside walking paths, making it a great option for a date.
I'm genuinely happy to see such experiential tourism content emerging in Ulsan. It seems likely to become a must-visit destination for families and kids once it opens.
The official opening is scheduled for June 5th! If you've been curious about the Wales Kart, be sure to give it a try once it opens. It’s much more fun than you might expect, and the views are fantastic!
The Hydrangea Festival will be held from June 19 to 28, 2026, so if you time your visit with that, you’re in for an even more enjoyable experience.
