Welcome to Ilsan Beach, the pride of the East Sea in Ulsan!

Opened on July 1st, the beach is set to operate until August 31st, providing a perfect getaway for 62 days.

During the scorching heat of last weekend, I visited Ilsan Beach, and this year it offers not just refreshing water activities but also a variety of attractions.

The swimming hours are from 10 AM to 7 PM, and swimming is prohibited outside these times. Please note that cooking on the sandy beach and nighttime fireworks are also prohibited.

At Ilsan Beach, you can rent beach chairs, umbrellas, tables, tubes, life jackets, and mats. The rental for chairs is based on a three-hour period, with prices varying for large and small water toys.

During the hot midday sun, the umbrellas and beach chairs provide much-needed shade. By the time I arrived, the beach chairs were already fully booked, but I saw families enjoying snacks under sturdy tents after swimming.

The umbrellas are conveniently located close to the water, making it easy to leave your belongings while you play in the sea. Umbrellas only are placed in the front, while those with tables are positioned at the back to maintain a clear view.

As you stroll along the beach, you'll notice areas marked with white lines designated for tent setup. This ensures that tents do not obstruct others and can be used safely. Tents can only be set up in designated areas within 24 hours.

There’s also a sand play area for kids, complete with free toys for digging and shaping. Since these toys are shared, please return them to their original place after use.

Now, let's dive into the cool sea! Even though the outside temperature exceeded 30 degrees, the water was refreshingly cold, providing relief from the heat.

For safety, there are markers in the water to prevent swimming in deep areas. You can enjoy the water only up to the orange buoys. Lifeguards are stationed throughout the beach to ensure safety.

Ilsan Beach offers a variety of activities beyond swimming, many of which are free!

First up is the free paddleboard experience. You can sign up by searching for 'Crazy Surfers Ulsan' on Naver. Sessions run at 10 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM, and participants under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

The experience booth is located on the beach near the administration office, where you’ll receive safety training before heading out to paddleboard on the East Sea.

There’s also a well-known beach gym near the Ilsan Tourist Information Center, equipped with impressive fitness machines. Open from 10 AM to 8 PM, anyone can use it for free.

It’s like having a gym right on the beach, with various weights available to suit individual abilities. Many people were exercising despite the heat, followed by a refreshing dip in the sea!

After a fun day at Ilsan Beach, it's time to clean up. The beach features shower facilities that can accommodate four people at once, along with foot wash stations.

There's a free shower area available for beachgoers, with outdoor showers and a changing container. However, please note that personal toiletries are not allowed, so it's best for a quick rinse.

For those who prefer a more thorough wash, there are paid shower facilities. It costs 500 won for ages 7-12 and 1,000 won for ages 13-64, with additional fees for usage over 10 minutes. Free access is granted to children under 7, seniors over 65, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.

In conclusion, I’ve shared various information and activities available at Ilsan Beach in Ulsan. Enjoy the refreshing waters and consider visiting the nearby Daewangam Park for a perfect summer getaway.

The 2026 Ulsan Shipbuilding and Marine Festival is scheduled for July 24-26, so make the most of your summer at Ilsan Beach!
