Bukchon is brimming with exhibitions tucked away on every street corner.

You might be walking along, think, "Oh, what's this?" and wander inside, only to discover a surprisingly rewarding exhibition!

I wanted to share some that I found well worth seeing.

These exhibitions are held at the FLUX.FLOW. CYART building.

I stumbled upon this place just passing by!

On the B1 floor, you'll find Wave Art Space and Vibe Art Space.

On the 2nd floor, there's Gallery The Flux and Gallery The Flow.

It's quite unique how these spaces with subtly different names are located on the same floor.

The Artrogic Space on the 1st floor, featuring Park Ha-young's solo exhibition 'Locked In' (August 25-27) has already closed...

I will share the review for the exhibition later.

The first floor gallery is right next to the FLUX.FLOW. CYART building.

Exhibition Information

Exhibition Titles: BYEOLGOT (Not Much), Story 4, 120 Degrees, Park Eun-kyung Exhibition

Exhibition Dates: While the start dates vary, all exhibitions run until August 31st.

The exhibition periods are short, so I wanted to quickly share my experience in the hope that you can visit before they close!

Exhibition: Vibe Art Space - [BYEOLGOT (Not Much)]

Participating Artists: Kim Min-ho, Song Jun-ha, Lee Yeon-soo, Lee Yu-jeong, Po-Plot

Exhibition Dates: August 22-31, 2025

What might be nothing to someone, is everything to us.

Stepping inside, you're surrounded by trendy and hip artwork.

Artist: Po-Plot

Space is perceived through the subject that recognizes it, and takes on different forms accordingly.

I aim to directly express and share the space of 'me,' the subject.

Looking at space through 'me' is becoming me.

I hope that many people gain visual pleasure through this, and that it exists as an individual experience.

Interesting Image

(Left) After the Play, (Right) Play

These two pieces felt strangely eerie.

After the Play

Feels like an after-party after a play?

Drunk and slumped on the sofa,

On the left wall,

It's hard to tell whether it's a spider web or a crack in the painting,

But the figure unable to hold themself up resembles the painting on the wall.

The two people are smirking at a dying goldfish.

The last person seems to be taking time for themself with a cigarette.

Artist: Lee Yeon-soo

They compose a static narrative like actors on a stage,

But within that, disconnection and isolation become clearer.

This is a visual metaphor for the psychological distance of modern society, that is, 'relationships that are disconnected even when together.'

Structurally,

There is a coexistence of exposure and concealment.

The characters' emotional expressions are explicit,

But their relationships or the whole story of the event are not clearly presented.

The background is staged in a theatrical space where reality and unreality coexist,

Reflecting the fact that emotion cannot be essentially reduced to clear language.

‘Relationships that are disconnected even when together’ is so sad....

I think it's more melancholic and lonely to be lonely and isolated even when with someone than to be alone.

Peaceful Scenery

Wave Art Space's "STORY 4"

What makes the desert beautiful is that somewhere it hides a well.

Walking along an invisible path,

At the end of that heart may be shining like starlight

You might discover small things

- Park Seo-ha (Director_Wave Art Space)

I hop up to the 2nd floor ????️

I'll go into Gallery The Flow first

Exhibition: 120 Degrees

Subtitle: Contact [Inside]

Artist: 120 Degrees

Exhibition Dates: August 26-31, 2025

120 Degrees is an artist name and brand created with the hope that people who only look at the ground will look up at the sky even once.

It was created based on the angle of the head being 120 degrees when looking at the sky.

We pause and get lost in thought while looking at the sky.

When you get lost in thought, various emotions bloom like flowers.

Joy, sadness, greed, hope, etc.

120 Degree's work is done with digital art and fine art

Prefers 1:1 ratio images.

Peaceful Scenery

Girl with a Pearl Earring

Duchamp - Digital Fountain

Women picking up phones (I named this, so it's not accurate)

Works that modernize masterpieces...

This kind of thing is fun and enjoyable haha

Gallery The Flux next door

Exhibition: Park Eun-kyung Exhibition

Subtitle: Ongoing

Artist: Park Eun-kyung

Exhibition Dates: August 26-31, 2025

Beautiful Scenery

The creatures in the drawings can fly even without wings, and they can choose to fly or run because they have both wings and feet.

They also break apart on their own and produce many other creatures.

Anything is possible in the world they live in,

And things happen that are impossible to imagine with common sense.

Special Moment

Valuable Experience

They are made using colored pencils, watercolor tools, Caran d'Ache, and other materials.

It feels unique, bright, and creative.

But because of the lighting,

Whenever I try to take a picture,

There's always a black line in the middle or on the edge...ㅠㅠ

So there are some things I wanted to take more pictures of but couldn't.

Interesting Image

Learning

What are you learning?

Bright Future

Glamorous Walk

Heeheehee

Valuable Experience

I really wanted to take a picture of this because it was so cuteㅠㅠㅠ

Something that looks like Pikachu

Feels like it's playing a prank

Covering both hands

Laughing alone, kekeke

The circus-like hat and clothes seem to have played a part!

There are only a few days left until 8/31,

Why don't you visit??
