Discovering Daesan Cheongmaru Forest Park in Hamann

A small forest located right next to the road! Towering metasequoias, green grass, walking paths, and resting areas harmoniously come together to create a charming place. Today, I would like to introduce a lovely resting spot in the daily life of Hamann County.
Daesan Cheongmaru Forest Park

This park is conveniently located close to the road, making it easy to stop by for a short visit. It’s not very large, allowing you to explore the entire park in a short amount of time.
Next to the park is the Daesan Senior Care Center. Daesan Cheongmaru Forest Park was created for the elderly residents of the care center and local community members to enjoy leisurely walks and rest nearby.
The walking paths are smooth, with railings in some sections to assist mobility. It's impressive how the paths are designed to accommodate those using wheelchairs or walking aids.
There are benches and resting areas throughout the park for visitors to take a break. The plentiful shade means you don’t have to worry about the sun, and the absence of tall buildings allows a gentle breeze to flow through. It’s a great place to grab a coffee and have a light chat.
Seating arrangements have been made under tree shades and canopies for casual conversations. It seems to be a popular spot, as there are already many chairs available.
Exercise facilities for local residents can also be found throughout the park. Solar-powered lighting has been installed for safe evening use, creating a space that feels designed with the convenience of actual users in mind.
Inside Daesan Cheongmaru Forest Park, there are small yet emotive decorations scattered around. One of them is a metal sculpture depicting a person riding a bicycle.
You can also spot pinwheels and wooden totem sculptures along the walking paths. I encountered a small totem for the first time, which piqued my curiosity, prompting me to take photos.
As you pass through the small forest path, there’s an open area that provides a refreshing view, showcasing the tranquil rural village and blue sky.
Upon entering the park, the first thing that caught my eye was the metasequoia trees. Although they are not very tall yet, their long, lined-up appearance gives a refreshing feeling. In autumn, they will turn brown, making it a wonderful forest to experience the changing seasons.
In a small flowerbed by the path, I was surprised to find beautiful hydrangeas. The presence of flowerbeds means that visitors can enjoy a variety of flowers throughout the seasons, adding a small joy to their park visits.
Daesan Cheongmaru Forest Park is distinct from tourist attractions that are intentionally extravagant or require long travels. It serves as a community park where residents can stroll, and the elderly can enjoy the fresh air, making it a friendly place to meet a hometown friend for a quick coffee and a half-hour chat.
