Starting Winter with Light Outdoor Activity

Are you staying bundled up in your blanket due to the cold? Instead of huddling indoors, engaging in light outdoor activities can invigorate your body and mind.
Experience the romance of winter while feeling the energetic vibes at Beomseo Multi-Purpose Gym and Beomseo Sports Park, the premier sports facilities in Ulsan's Ulju County.
Beomseo Multi-Purpose Gym Overview
The Beomseo Multi-Purpose Gym, newly opened in 2025, is located at 85-9 Guyeongap-gil. It features a spacious parking lot right in front, making it convenient for visitors.
During the winter break, I visited with my child and found a playground for kids near the entrance, which was perfect for spending some time. The playground is equipped with elastic flooring, ensuring safety even if kids fall, and includes a large play structure and a horizontal bar. My child joyfully shed their heavy coat and energetically played.
In front of the playground, there are well-maintained restrooms, benches, and a pergola for parents to relax while watching their children.
Outdoor Sports Facilities
The Beomseo Guyeong Futsal Field, located near the playground, is a spacious artificial turf field suitable for club activities and group matches. It is particularly popular among office workers for evening games due to its excellent lighting system.

Visiting on a weekend, I witnessed friends kicking a ball around, filling the area with laughter and excitement. Reservations are required for free use, and the facility operates from 9 AM to 9 PM.
Gym Facilities and Usage Information
As you enter the Beomseo Multi-Purpose Gym, you will find another spacious parking area. The gym operates from 9 AM to 10 PM on weekdays and from 9 AM to 6 PM on weekends and holidays. Please note that it is closed every Monday and on January 1st, Lunar New Year, and Chuseok.
When using the gym, please wear indoor badminton shoes. Outdoor shoes, slippers, and dress shoes are not permitted. Additionally, players must bring their own rackets and shuttlecocks.
Daily entry is available with on-site payment (cash not accepted), and the fee for adults is 2,000 won for one hour, while children, teenagers, and seniors pay 1,000 won. A 20% discount is available for local residents, so don't forget to bring your ID!
Badminton Courts and Programs
Upon entering the badminton court, I was impressed by its spaciousness. Multiple courts are arranged comfortably, and the high ceiling creates a pleasant atmosphere. Even in the middle of winter, students were energetically playing badminton in short sleeves and shorts, showcasing the gym's vibrant energy.
Currently, free badminton lessons are being offered as part of the opening celebration, available from Tuesday to Friday, with sessions from 10 AM to 11:40 AM and 3 PM to 6 PM. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who have been hesitant to try badminton.
Take a moment to catch your breath on the benches provided in the gym, and enjoy the separate lounge area for a comfortable break during your workout.
The spacious changing rooms and showers are well-equipped, ensuring comfort even when multiple people are using them at the same time. Hairdryers are available, allowing you to tidy up quickly after your shower.
Beomseo Sports Park

Crossing the bridge towards Beomseo, you will find Beomseo Sports Park, a healthy retreat and a hub of sports activity for the residents of Beomseo-eup.
The park also features ample parking on both sides, making it convenient for visitors. If the parking is full, you can also park at the nearby Ulsan Art Center.
Soccer, Basketball, and Walking Paths
Upon entering the park, the artificial turf soccer field immediately caught my attention. During my visit, around 20 people were divided into teams, engaged in an exciting soccer match. The players’ enthusiasm and heavy breathing were palpable even from a distance.
The soccer field at Beomseo Sports Park is a paid facility that can be reserved online. The fee for a two-hour session on weekdays is 45,000 won, varying slightly based on the purpose and day of use.
In the stands next to the soccer field, friends gathered to cheer, and the applause that erupted with impressive dribbles and shots echoed joyfully throughout the park. The thrilling scene made me want to cheer along!
On one side of the park, a basketball court attracted users practicing their shots. A child watching nearby showed interest, wanting to try it themselves.
Being an open sports facility, it allows anyone to use it freely without reservations, making it easy to enjoy.
Ending the Day Outdoors
Along the track surrounding the soccer field, I noticed a couple walking side by side, taking their time and chatting, embodying a moment of peace amidst their busy lives. The benches scattered throughout the park provide perfect spots to rest during a walk.
My visit to Beomseo Sports Park with family over the weekend was a healing experience, allowing us to enjoy nature quietly in the heart of the city. While it may be tempting to stay indoors during the cold winter, taking a stroll outside can quickly recharge your energy.
Don’t waste your weekend at home; I recommend stepping outside to recharge with fresh air and healthy energy!
