Discover the Beauty of Bukchon at the Bukchon Oriental Culture Museum

If you're planning a visit to Bukchon Hanok Village, I highly recommend stopping by the Bukchon Oriental Culture Museum!
Especially on a clear day with a beautiful sky, this museum offers a panoramic view of Bukchon from its observatory. It's simply the best place to enjoy the scenery!

The museum itself is historically significant as it's located on the former site of the home of Maeng Sa-seong, who was a teacher to King Sejong the Great during the Joseon Dynasty. Inside, you'll find a variety of interesting exhibits, making it a great place to visit with children.
Even the walk to the museum is beautiful! As expected in Bukchon, there are many international visitors; you might even feel like you're in another country with all the foreign languages you hear.
The museum is located at: Bukchon Oriental Culture Museum, 76, Bukchon-ro 11-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
You can reach it by taking Subway Line 3 to Anguk Station, Exit 2, and walking for about 13 minutes. Parking is available at nearby public parking lots.
Please note that the alleyways in this area are open to tourists only from 10 AM to 5 PM. Remember to keep your voices down when walking through the alleys as residents live there. You'll find souvenir shops along the way, which are worth checking out.

The Bukchon Oriental Culture Museum is easy to spot because it flies the Korean flag. It's located on your right as you walk. The path is quite straightforward.
The 6,000 KRW admission fee includes a complimentary beverage. It was so refreshing to enjoy a cool drink while taking in the view on a hot day!

The site of Gobul Maeng Sa-seong's home is well-preserved and definitely worth a visit. My child was fascinated when I explained the history to them!
The ticket booth is located inside the souvenir shop at the entrance. Purchase your tickets and enter the museum through the door.
Before going inside, we admired the pottery on display next to the entrance. It was surprisingly beautiful and intricate!
My child and I enjoyed looking at each piece, marveling at the exquisite detail and craftsmanship. Seeing these historical artifacts in person made them much more engaging than simply reading about them in a history book. Seeing is believing!

There were also various seals on display, which were quite interesting. I only wish there had been more detailed explanations next to them.
We then headed inside to the observatory. The water next to it was so clear and clean.
And the sky was absolutely gorgeous! Combined with the lotus leaves blooming nearby, it created a truly breathtaking scene.
Of course, I had to take lots of photos! It was a natural photo zone!

Finally, we reached the top and saw the view of Bukchon. The picturesque scenery was simply breathtaking.
Many international visitors were there, and I'm sure they were just as impressed as I was.
The museum is open daily from 10:00 to 18:30 (last admission 15 minutes before closing; winter hours may vary).
The observatory leads to another hall, which is also an exhibition space.

Here, you can see various ceramics and tea sets. They were so beautiful that I wondered if such things existed in that era.
It's a great place to take a short tour with children. While the scale isn't huge, it offers a glimpse into the past.
This photo is of something I personally loved! It was so small, charming, and cute.
There was also a gong, which my child tapped lightly, but the sound was quite loud, so I quickly stopped them!

The weather was perfect, wasn't it? The lush green trees made the scene even more magnificent.
When we went inside for our drinks, there were many international visitors. You can order other drinks for an additional charge.
We ordered coffee for ourselves and a chocolate latte for our child.

The cafe was filled with beautiful dishes and ceramics. My child insisted on sitting on the "king's chair" and posed like royalty!
Enjoying a drink while admiring the stunning scenery was truly a healing experience!
There's a reason why popular places are so popular. It was only then that I truly appreciated the charm and beauty of Hanok roofs.

If you want to see the beauty of Hanoks combined with a magnificent autumn sky, I highly recommend this place!
And of course, we took many more pictures on the way down. After all, memories are made of photographs.
It was a wonderful time exploring various exhibits, enjoying the beautiful scenery, and experiencing the charm of Hanoks.

I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a healing experience. If you visit Bukchon, be sure to check it out!
Create precious memories with your child! The admission fee is 6,000 KRW, which includes one beverage.
