Aromatic Adventures: Experiencing the Seongnam-dong Coffee Festival in Ulsan

From the tail end of October into the beginning of November, the Seongnam-dong Coffee Festival filled the area around the clock tower in Seongnam-dong, Jung-gu, Ulsan, with the rich scent of coffee. I went to experience it firsthand.
Here’s a vivid review of my visit.
The 2025 Seongnam-dong Coffee Festival took place over three days, from October 31st to November 2nd, 2025, in the Culture Street area of Jung-gu, Ulsan.
The festival grounds stretched from the old Ulsan Elementary School to Clock Tower Street.
This year's coffee festival included various events such as a pregnant women's fast pass, a free coffee event, a dress code event, and a stamp tour, making the festival even more enjoyable.
Before fully immersing myself in the Seongnam-dong Coffee Festival, I grabbed a pamphlet from the information booth to get an overview.
I visited on a weekend.
Many people were visiting the Seongnam-dong Coffee Festival as a weekend outing. The streets were packed with visitors, filling the air with the aroma of coffee.
This year's coffee festival saw a large number of vendors participating.
Approximately 70 vendors participated, making it the largest Seongnam-dong Coffee Festival in terms of vendor participation.
Vendors from Ulsan, representatives from various regions, and even international participants were present, offering a chance to experience a wide variety of coffees.
Particularly impressive was the opportunity to experience Ethiopian coffee directly.
They even brought green beans and offered tastings.
On the last day, I was touched to see them staying until the end of the event, even as other vendors were closing early.
Besides Ethiopia, there was also a vendor from Osaka.
Unfortunately, they had already closed when I visited on the last day, so I missed out on any tasting events.
With so many vendors participating, it was a truly happy time for coffee lovers to experience a wide variety of coffees.
Not only could you sample the aroma of coffee beans, but you could also taste coffee made with your preferred beans at many booths.
Most vendors offered coffee tastings, so I drank a lot of coffee that day.
There were also booths selling desserts that paired well with coffee, and many people were buying them to enjoy together.
Live performances were held in the middle of the festival grounds, providing a variety of entertainment.
I was able to purchase coffee beans and drip bags at affordable prices, which made me happy.
Purchases at the festival also came with a raffle ticket exchange coupon, allowing me to make the most of my time until the very end.
In addition to coffee tastings, there were also hands-on experiences available.
These included drip bag coffee brewing, coffee bean roasting, latte art, and drip bag making, which were open to everyone.
Perhaps that's why the experience booths were the most popular.
The main stage in front of the old Ulsan Elementary School hosted latte art and brewing coffee competitions, allowing visitors to experience the lively atmosphere of the competition firsthand.
For three days, the Seongnam-dong area was filled with the aroma of coffee, making it pleasant to simply walk through.
The start of autumn was filled with the fragrant scent of coffee, making for a happy time.
I'm already looking forward to next year's Seongnam-dong Coffee Festival.
Have a wonderful autumn and a warm winter.
