A Visit to Soul Market Bakery in Samsung Station

I visited Soul Market Bakery while checking out an exhibition near Samsung Station.
This is my thirty-sixth stop on my Seoul bread tour!
It's located inside COEX, which is perfect for the chilly weather these days.
I initially went to try their egg tart, but they were out, so I ended up trying other breads instead.
On my way to the bakery, I passed by the Starfield Library, which still had its Christmas decorations up.
It's quite a sight that makes it hard to focus on the books!
Soul Market Bakery is near Youngpoong Bookstore, so if you head to Youngpoong inside Starfield, you'll find it more easily.
The bakery cafe was quite busy, making it a bit chaotic.
I quickly browsed the breads and made my purchases.
I got a scone, ciabatta, cinnamon roll, and salt bread.
The variety of breads here is impressive for a cafe!
I thought it could definitely be a stop on my bread tour.
I was hoping for egg tarts, pecan tarts, and corn tarts, but since I visited in the afternoon, only the corn tart was available.
I bought a truffle salt bread, kaya jam pastry, basil tomato ciabatta, and corn tart, totaling around 21,700 won.
It seems like the chef from the Black and White Chef series created this bakery!
The packaging was lovely, with individual plastic wraps inside the box.
I tried the corn tart first after warming it in the microwave.
It contained corn mayo, but the tart flavor was not very pronounced.
It felt more like a prepared bread, which was a bit disappointing.
For me, the best bread was the basil tomato ciabatta.
It paired perfectly with mushroom soup and an Americano!
The bread was chewy and delicious, and the combination of basil, tomato, and cheese was unbeatable.
I’m curious to try other ciabattas as well.
The pastry had butter and kaya jam inside, but it wasn't as flaky and buttery as I expected.
I was satisfied with this one experience!
Although I didn't take a photo, the truffle salt bread was just okay.
If I go back, I would definitely just get the ciabatta!
