A Spring Outing to Yeongcheon Ecological Park
As May, the month of families, arrives, many of us ponder where to go with our parents or family.
If you're looking for a place to enjoy the seasonal atmosphere without traveling far,
the Yeongcheon outing course might be quite satisfying.
This time, I visited Yeongcheon Ecological Park, known for its stunning purple canola flowers.
Unlike the usual yellow canola flowers, the purple variety offers a different ambiance, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll.
Upon arrival, the first thing that caught my eye was the vast expanse of purple hues.
The purple canola flowers bloomed along the riverside for about 1.4 km, creating a calm and gentle atmosphere.
This made it easy for my parents and me to enjoy a slow walk and take photos without feeling rushed.
Especially beautiful was how the flowers swayed gently in the breeze.
Free parking is available at Yeongcheon Ecological Park.
The parking lots are located at Wansan-dong 1035 and Wansan-dong 640.
There are not many steep paths, and the layout is quite convenient for exploring with parents.
I saw families with strollers, and the atmosphere felt relaxed, as many local residents also visited for a walk.
A leisurely walk around takes about 60 minutes.
The purple canola flowers have a softer hue than regular canola, making it ideal for portrait photography.
Even without a professional studio, you can capture memorable family photos at this scenic spot in Gyeongbuk.
On the day I visited, May 5th, I noticed the peonies starting to bloom alongside the purple canola flowers.
This added to the vibrant atmosphere, and many families were taking pictures.
From this weekend until mid-May, you can enjoy both the purple canola and peony flowers, making it a great time to visit Gyeongbuk.
