Safety accidents can happen at any moment in daily life.
Unexpected dangers can arise during outdoor activities such as fires, traffic accidents, swimming, and camping.
In such moments, we often feel flustered and unsure of what to do.
However, if we have prior training to prepare for these dangerous situations, we can respond more calmly and minimize damage.
The Gyeonggi Province National Safety Experience Center consists of a children's safety fairy tale village and four multi-safety experience zones.

Anyone from children to adults can participate, making it a comprehensive safety experience hub for the residents of Gyeonggi Province.
Upon arriving at the center, I was warmly greeted by the staff member I had spoken with earlier for the interview.
I had assumed they were an office worker, but they turned out to be a firefighter.
The friendly tone and consideration conveyed over the phone matched their actual demeanor, naturally fostering trust.
Their neat uniform exuded a sense of responsibility and mission, reinforcing the fact that this is a space for learning about safety.
I felt a sense of relief as if I had entered a sturdy protective barrier.
Inside the children's safety fairy tale village, various safety training programs are offered.
The first place I was guided to was the children's safety fairy tale village.
Here, 18 different experience programs are available.
In facilities that realistically replicate living spaces, participants learn basic safety rules, evacuation procedures during a fire, and how to respond to earthquakes.
Additionally, safety training for using buses and motorcycles takes place in a hands-on manner, enhancing the sense of reality.
In the firefighter job experience area, children dress up as firefighters, board a small fire truck, and respond to a fire scene.
They even experience operating a fire hose to extinguish a model building on fire.
It’s a vivid experience that goes beyond simple play, evoking real-life scenarios.
The multi-safety experience area consists of four zones covering safety in daily life, industry, transportation, and disasters.
Each zone is designed with experience-focused programs that reflect actual situations.
These facilities help participants understand various risk factors more realistically and develop their response abilities.
Training for evacuation during building fires is conducted here.
In the daily and industrial safety zone, participants learn how to prevent various safety accidents that could occur in daily life and how to respond to accidents in industrial settings.
The training includes essential topics such as:
- Elevator safety
- Firefighting using extinguishers and hydrants
- Evacuation techniques in smoke
- How to use a rescue device
- Electrical safety experiences
This structured training is crucial for real-life situations.
The center also simulates fire situations in subways and tunnels for effective training.
Such experiences can lead to accurate and swift responses in crisis situations.
The training is led by experienced firefighters, enhancing the credibility of the education.
Finally, the experience center spans an area of 16,745 square meters and includes 9 experience zones and 52 activities.
It is the first of its kind in Gyeonggi Province and is known to be the largest in the country.
The overall cleanliness and meticulous design reflect its completion in 2022.
Despite being underground, the high ceilings and open space create a comfortable environment.
