A Refreshing Getaway After a Long Week: Coastal Delights and Mountain Views

Finishing the delivery last Saturday felt so liberating!
On Sunday morning, the delivery destination requested more chrysanthemums, so I sent them the 40 pots I had ordered for myself. Then, I quickly placed an additional order for myself, and on a whim, I ordered a few extra to see if I could sell them at a discount.
It started to drizzle, and I headed off from the farm.
The drought has been so severe that the broad-leaved trees were scorched and yellow.
Donghae and Samcheok had a refreshing downpour, but as I entered Gangneung, it was only cloudy.
I stopped by a restaurant in Jumunjin for lunch and had a barley rice and ssam (wrap) set meal.
It came with grilled fish – mackerel, red rockfish, and flathead. It was ₩15,000 per person. It was a nice restaurant. (Youngjin Barley Rice Ssambap Restaurant)
I asked if Jumunjin was also doing okay for water since it's part of Gangneung, and they said the water source is different, so it's fine. It seems only Gangneung city is experiencing drought damage.
After lunch, I went to Hyuhyuam Temple.
Hyuhyuam has changed a lot since I last visited a few years ago.
It was Sunday, so it was far from a quiet place. Haha!
There's an ocean-view cafe area, and...
A Guanyin Golden Bell...
The Wisdom Avalokitesvara (Bodhisattva of Compassion) is holding a golden book, but it looked like a gold bar to me! Haha! It doesn't feel like the old Hyuhyuam anymore; it's become a tourist spot designed to make you spend money, which gives it that kind of feeling...
I especially liked the stone basin.
Near the sea, there's a place for releasing fish and a place to buy fish food.
So, thanks to that, there were swarms of Korean dark chub! The rocks were covered more in fish than water. Haha!
Toe Rock
Cormorant
There were so many fish that the seawater looked blackish.
Strange rocks
Leaving Hyuhyuam, I ended up on the Hange Pass road.
The scenic view from the Heullimgol Exploration Information Center.
Before getting to the Hange Pass rest area, I turned left towards Pillye Mineral Spring.
I drove around Jeombong Mountain, Jindong-ri, Hongcheon, Pyeongchang, and entered Yeongwol. Somehow, I ended up driving through half of Gangwon Province! Haha!
