Ganjeolgot Christmas Tree Light Festival
Introduction
Hello, I am Choi Jeong-won from the Ulsan Metropolitan City Blog Reporter Group.
Today, I would like to introduce a place where a light festival is taking place, showcasing a stunning night view with a beautifully lit Christmas tree.
Ganjeolgot is a great spot for children to play and fly kites, making it a frequent destination for my family.
Junk Art Park Experience
There are also junk art installations, making it a good place to visit while enjoying the tree.
With various artworks, including robots and cars, it has become a fun playground for kids.
Let me provide more details!
Use the Junk Art Park parking lot!
There is a parking lot right in front of the junk art exhibition space. I recommend this spot since the parking near the light festival can be limited.
I stopped by briefly before heading to the light festival.
I had visited here before, and it seems to have changed a bit.
New artworks have been added and some have been modified.
Notably, there is a giant robot named Solar Bot, standing 18 meters tall, which is said to be the world's largest junk art!
It stands like a landmark, and next to it is a windmill that looks familiar, similar to the one in Ulsan Grand Park.
Junk art is literally the transformation of trash into art.
It is made from industrial waste and miscellaneous items that cannot be recycled.
I felt it was a perfect combination of environment and art.
Even on a cold day, many families visited with their children.
The diverse exhibits provided great opportunities for photos.
Since it runs continuously, I think it would be perfect to visit whenever you have time!
Itโs a great place to visit before or after seeing the tree festival.
Walking Up to the Light Festival
As you go up the hill, you can see the light festival tree!
If you walk up from the parking lot opposite the junk art exhibition, you will see the hill.
As you continue up, the bright Christmas lights come into view.
This is where my family often comes for picnics and kite flying.
In the windy summer, itโs cool and perfect for kids to run around.
Being right by the beach, I love the sea breeze here.
The festival was taking place right above us.

Festival Atmosphere and Highlights
The dazzling lights create an illusion of stepping into a new world.
After seeing the usual white trees, the pink tree offers a refreshing vibe.
From the large main tree, various other trees are visible.
Lights along the path make you feel special.
The vibrant colors and overall brightness make for great photos.
Even if you just walk around and take pictures, youโll get fantastic shots! It was busy even when I arrived late.
There are food stalls serving snacks, including fish cakes, both below and at the tree zone, making it easy to grab a quick bite.
Photo Spots and Family-Friendly Elements
The white pebbles and purple-themed trees, along with the white main tree, create a harmonious atmosphere.
It was really cold that day, but the warm colors contrasted with the chilly beach winds.
I recommend bringing hand warmers!
It felt like the fields of silver grass from Ganwoljae were moved here.
It matched the autumn vibe perfectly.
It looked beautiful from afar, with various photo spots available.
Honestly, every spot is picturesque!
There was a carousel that kids love, but it wasnโt operating.
However, it felt like I was transported back to my childhood.
The red horse on the carousel symbolizes the Year of the Red Horse in 2026.
It felt like I was soaking in good energy.
Ending the Visit
The cable car has stairs behind it, making it easy for kids to climb and take photos.
I really felt that the place was designed for family visits.
There was also a bright red full moon, which looked great in photos from any angle.
It was stunning, especially against the reeds.
I took a picture to capture the overall view as I descended.
I had such a wonderful time.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, I shared my experience visiting the Ganjeolgot Light Festival.
After dinner, visiting around 5 PM to enjoy the junk art and then the light festival would be ideal.
From the beautiful silver grass to the colorful trees, it was a feast for the eyes.
If you want to see a special night view in Ulsan with your family, I highly recommend visiting!
Thank you.
