A Heartwarming Mother-Daughter Date: Reviewing the Musical Drama 'Waiting for You Here' in Daehakro

The school break was so short that I regretted not being able to see a play with my kids.
Luckily, I got a great opportunity to go see a show in Daehakro with my second child. What a perfect day for a date!
Walking hand-in-hand with my high school daughter under the clear blue sky, just strolling through the streets of Daehakro made me feel so good.
The play we watched was called "Waiting for You Here," by Theater Group Chunja. Just the title alone made my heart flutter! ❤️
It made me feel like I needed to rush over and meet someone right away.
"Waiting for You Here" is a musical drama that was selected for the 6th Iguana Festival. Even the poster was filled with emotion, and I was excited to see what kind of music would be featured.

Seymung University Minsong Art Hall is located on the 6th floor of the Jungwon Building, about 100m from Exit 1 of Hyehwa Station. It's easy to find because there's an Olive Young and a Mega Coffee on the first floor.
This was my first time visiting Minsong Art Hall, and I was immediately impressed by its spacious and bright entrance. The first impression was great! They were so welcoming and even prepared a letter and a gift.
My daughter was touched by the cute tissue gift.

It turned out that they performed a play called "Love, Lies" in 2023. Thank you to Theater Group Chunja for warming my heart with your handwritten letter! I truly appreciate your kindness.
Receiving the tickets and the thoughtful tissue gift made me feel like I was at a festival as we entered the theater. The waiting room at Seymung University Minsong Art Hall was spacious and clean.
Looking at the poster, I felt like I was being drawn into distant memories. These feelings might be unfamiliar to my young daughter.
This is a map of the seating in Hall 2, where the viewing was unreserved. Finally, it was time to enter!
Minsong Art Hall's Hall 2 was larger than I expected, but it had a comfortable seating and a cozy atmosphere.
As always, before the play began, I took my time to look around the stage, filled with excitement. I actually didn't know much about the plot beforehand, but the radio station setting reminded me of forgotten dreams, and I was completely immersed from the start!

When I go to see plays in Daehakro, I usually have a lighthearted time, laughing and enjoying myself. However, this play was quite serious and intriguing, making it a unique experience for me. The story was subtle yet well-structured, and I was captivated until the end.
The two main characters! (Although everyone gave a wonderful performance that made them feel like main characters.)
Actor Jo Ji-hoon, who played Han River, and Shin Ye-eon, who passionately portrayed Yoo Seul-gi, were so convincing that I felt like they were real people. The live song sung by singer Han River in the play was an unexpected and wonderful gift. I can still hear it in my ears!

Wasn't Shin Ye-eon a journalist before? Hehe.
Also, Kim Ja-young, who played the comedic role of Hado-rok, and Choi Hyo-eun, who played the lovely and devoted Gorani!
I saw them up close in the waiting area after the play, and they were so pretty. My daughter fell in love with how beautiful they were!

Among the plays I've seen in Daehakro, this one had the largest cast, with 8 actors working together to deliver a passionate performance that made the 90 minutes fly by. I loved the ending scene, and it lingered in my mind for a while.
While writing this review, I'm reminded of the last song of Han River. I want to listen to the song about Hyun-joo and Bom again.
"Waiting for You Here."
Since it was selected for the 6th Iguana Festival, I knew I could trust the quality of the show. Although the last performance at the Iguana Festival has ended, they say they will be presenting a new and improved version, so please look forward to Theater Group Chunja's wonderful performance!

The nostalgic songs brought back old memories, and it was a wonderful play for middle-aged people like me.
I hope this post is helpful to someone!
