A Fun and Free Science Museum in Seoul: Seoul Metropolitan Science Museum!

Seoul
I visited the Seoul Metropolitan Science Museum, a great place to visit with kids and it's free!
I was happy to find a space where even middle schoolers could have fun.
I couldn't see everything in one visit, so I'll definitely have to come back again.

We missed the shuttle, so we took the bus! If it's not too hot, walking might be nice.
Finally arrived!
See the information about weekend and weekday exhibition programs!
It was our first visit, so we wanted to explore freely and didn't sign up for any programs.
I'm planning to sign up next time! ^^ The lockers with element symbols on them are so cute and clever.
First, the Coexistence Zone!
There are so many spaces to freely experience things.
It's very fulfilling.
The explanations aren't too childish, so elementary and middle school students can enjoy it together.
Even my husband was surprisingly engaged and trying out some of the exhibits.
A story about wild animals coming down to the city and roadkill.
There's also a kiosk where you can sign up for events, experiences, and explanations.
We thought about signing up for an experience, but since it was our first visit, we thought just the permanent exhibitions would be enough.
And it was definitely enough!
This is the typhoon experience zone.
They went in two by two, and the wind was so strong!
Younger children might find it a bit scary.
Idea Workshop
Earthquake experience and ride video theater.
The timing didn't quite work out for the earthquake experience.
You create a three-dimensional work (building form) and press a button to make it shake, simulating an earthquake.
We observed how sturdy we could make the work and where it would collapse from, making and modifying three-dimensional works several times.
An experiment where heart-shaped smoke comes out due to pressure difference.
Traces of the Anthropocene found by geologists in 3030.
There were many things to think about.
Stories of plants and animals living in the Han River.
There were many exhibits where you could experience things in the hallway as well.
These exhibitions are themed around famous paintings, adding scientific elements and interactive experiences.
Comme On Bay Cafe.
It looked like a good place for a snack, but we went straight to dinner.
We moved to another floor.
This is a camera that allows you to examine the internal and external organs of the human body.
I examined my scalp, haha.
Building an atom model.
A game where you participate with just your eyes!
It's really amazing.
This is a game where you chase and eliminate germs with your eyes.
The geography of Seoul appears, and it's a competition to see which public transportation method can get you from area A to area B in the shortest amount of time.
We enjoyed participating with the kids.
A zone where you can measure your running speed.
Tilted ship experience.
In the end...
Although we couldn't see everything, it was very fulfilling and fun.
I think this was the place with the most things my husband could explain to the kids.
We used to go to Gwacheon Science Museum often, but compared to the somewhat childish content there, the Seoul Metropolitan Science Museum is more focused on older students.
It was perfect for our kids.
There were places we didn't see, so we're planning to revisit next time!
There's only a week left of vacation~~eek!
If you visit during vacation, it will be a great experience.^^
