A Family Trip to Gyeongju in May

May is the month of family. πΌ
As the gentle breeze carries pollen that tickles your nose, many families are likely planning outings for the weekend.
I invite you to Gyeongju, a familiar yet ever-refreshing destination in Gyeongbuk.
In May, Gyeongju is a perfect place for a family stroll with its lush greenery and tranquil dirt paths.
Let me introduce you to a lovely route from Daereungwon to Woljeonggyo.
Daereungwon: A Thousand-Year Forest and Tombs
In May, Daereungwon is covered in vibrant green grass, making it an ideal photo spot from any angle.
The well-maintained walking paths are great for people of all ages.
While the magnolia and quince tree photo spots are well-known, in May you can also see the blooming of the white mulberry tree.
Cheomseongdae: The Heart of Silla Gazing at the Stars
Crossing just one crosswalk from Daereungwon leads you to Cheomseongdae.
Different flowers bloom around Cheomseongdae each season.
On my visit on May 1st, the canola flowers were in full bloom. πΌ
The bright yellow flowers among the green leaves created a bustling photo spot.
While I missed seeing them this time, by mid-May, you can look forward to the poppies and various wildflowers.
Gyelim: A Mystical Forest
Gyelim is steeped in the legend of Kim Al-ji, the ancestor of the Gyeongju Kim clan.
The dense trees provide a cool shade even at noon, creating a mystical atmosphere.
You can experience different beauty in each of the four seasons.
The centuries-old zelkova trees welcome you with a fairy-tale-like appearance.
There are benches scattered throughout, perfect for a short rest.
Concluding Your Stroll at Woljeonggyo
Woljeonggyo is located at the edge of Gyeongju's Gyeochon Village.
As soon as you enter the Woljeonggyo promotional center, a cool breeze greets you.
You can learn about the restoration process of Woljeonggyo and the history of Silla architecture, making it educational for children.
The reflection of the bridge in the river is also a stunning sight.
Sitting on a bench in the promotional center, you can capture passersby in a cinematic way.
Before the month of family comes to an end, why not pack your camera and head to Gyeongju with your family this weekend?
I hope you create joyful memories and capture family photos! πΌ
