Recently, I visited the newly opened Starbucks Gwangjang Market branch in Jongno, Seoul! >_< The cafe had a unique Jongno vibe, and I enjoyed chatting at Starbucks before heading to the market for some bindaetteok (mung bean pancake)! Let's take a look at my course! ㅎㅎ

Happy Time

[Starbucks Gwangjang Market Branch]

<Hours of Operation>

Everyday: 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM

<Location>

88, Changgyeonggung-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul (Yeji-dong)

(249m from Jongno 5-ga Station Exit 8)

I was a little worried about finding Starbucks Gwangjang Market, but it was easier than I thought. There were Starbucks signs everywhere, as shown in the photos!

For reference, from Jongno 5-ga Station Exit 8, go straight for 100m, enter Gwangjang Market through North Gate 2, go straight for another 100m, turn right, and enter Yeonggwang Paebaek Alley within 50m. It is located in the (former) Gwangjang Market Textile Department.

Happy Time

When you enter the Starbucks alley, you'll see the Starbucks logo on the second floor! >_<

Go straight a little further in that direction, and you'll see Yeonggwang Paebaek on the left. Enter the alley between them.

When you come in, there's a space with a domed roof, and it feels like you've found a small plaza! ㅎ0ㅎ

Starbucks was right there on the second floor of the round building.

Happy Time

Tada! >_< There was also a bar on the first floor. And I could also check the floor guide.

1st Floor: Cold Brew Take-out bar

A space to quickly order simple coffee and snacks for takeout. Siren Order is not available! Nitro Cold Brew is only sold on the 1st floor.

2nd Floor: Coffee & Cocktail Main bar

You can experience Starbucks drinks, food, and specialized merchandise, and Siren Order pickup is only available on the 2nd floor!

3rd Floor: Rooftop

Capture memories in an attractive space.

We were planning to eat in, so we headed straight to the 2nd floor.

Sadly, the day I visited was a rainy day, so the rooftop was not open. ㅠ-ㅠ I'll have to visit again when the weather gets better. ㅎㅎ

When you enter the 2nd floor, a long corridor appears, and you can hear the friendly staff greeting you.

Passing the MD display and counter, on the way to find a seat, I saw cocktails! ㅎㅎㅎㅎ Look at the visuals! >0< They were so pretty! ㅎㅎㅎㅎ

Valuable Experience

There were three types available: Purple Mango Dragon Fruit Piña Colada, Passion Tea Cosmopolitan, and Pink Grapefruit Rum Tonic. They check ID when purchasing alcohol.

The interior of the 2nd floor had a subtle and warm lighting. If you climb a slight incline in the middle, there were two spaces like rooms.

The main area had sofa seats, high table seats, and spots good for working on a laptop. Various tables were well equipped.

We climbed up a hill and entered a cozy room. We sat in a spacious seat with a nice atmosphere, like a cave.

Happy Time

And the wall with 1971 written on it seemed to be a photo zone!? ㅎㅎㅎ I also took a picture. And when I went to the innermost space, everyone was taking pictures of the glass window!? When I looked at what they were taking pictures of, I could see the merchants of the market in the distance.

After finding a good spot and looking around the interior, I conveniently ordered with Siren Order. As expected of a special Starbucks store, there were specialized drinks!

Golden Mandarin Hop Fizzio, Starbucks Honey Hotteok Frappuccino, Iced Starbucks Honey Hotteok Latte, Iced Injeolmi Cream Latte, Makgeolli Scent Cream Cold Brew, Iced Tiramisu Chocolate, Iced Matcha Tiramisu Latte, Strawberry Cold Foam Chocolate, Strawberry Cold Foam Strawberry Latte

Everything looked so delicious, it was hard to choose! ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

My pick this time was the Iced Injeolmi Cream Latte! >0<

There were also desserts sold only at the Gwangjang Market branch: Pomokbo Strawberry Crepe, Siltarae Baumkuchen, and Siru Honey Cake! ㅎㅎㅎㅎ Siltarae had a very attractive visual! ㅎㅎㅎ

The left is the Golden Mandarin Hop Fizzio that my friend ordered,

The right is the Iced Injeolmi Cream Latte that I ordered.

The cool and refreshing Fizzio was delicious, and the savory Injeolmi Latte with a shot added was also so smooth and delicious! ㅎㅎㅎ My friend said it tasted like coffee in misutgaru (roasted grain powder drink). ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Sadly, I didn't get to see the rooftop. ㅠㅠ But the bathroom was spacious and clean, which was nice. As soon as I came out of Starbucks,

[Garlic Boy]

<Hours of Operation>

Everyday: 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM

<Location>

88, Changgyeonggung-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul 1st floor #46

(249m from Jongno 5-ga Station Exit 8)

Garlic Boy! >0< I heard Garlic Boy is super popular these days!? It was a takeout-only garlic bread restaurant.

Why is a garlic bread shop so hip! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

It's a visual that makes you want to take pictures.

There were so many delicious-looking garlic breads, such as Garlic Crumble, Cheese Garlic Bread, Truffle Cream Garlic Bread, and Soft Cream Garlic Bread. We each got takeout according to our preferences and headed straight to the bindaetteok restaurant.

Special Moment

Of course, if you come to Gwangjang Market on a rainy day, you can't miss bindaetteok and makgeolli (Korean rice wine)! >_<

[Original Sunhee's Bindaetteok]

<Hours of Operation>

Everyday: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM

Last Order: 8:30 PM

<Location>

5, Jongno 32-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul

(134m from Jongno 5-ga Station Exit 8)

I headed to Original Sunhee's Bindaetteok. This bindaetteok is a real 맛집 (delicious restaurant)! >0<

Interesting Image

A mountain of bindaetteok...! But they were going out in an instant! ㅎㅎ Just by looking, the inside of the store was full of customers!

We entered right away and ordered mayak gimbap (addictive seaweed rice rolls) and a platter.

For reference, the platter consists of: 2 mung bean pancakes, 1 meat patty

Precious Memory

Mayak gimbap that I haven't eaten in a while! ㅎㅎㅎ It's really savory and delicious when you dip it in a little mustard.

Splendid Scene

The pancakes were warm and delicious as soon as they came out! ㅠ0ㅠ ㅎㅎ Catching up with my friends and having a glass of makgeolli made it a pleasant trip to Gwangjang Market.

For those of you visiting Gwangjang Market in Jongno, Seoul, I recommend Starbucks Gwangjang Market for coffee, Garlic Boy for dessert, and Original Sunhee's Bindaetteok as a bindaetteok 맛집! >_<
