A Day of Fun at the Mama Festival in Ulsan

Hello, this is Jung Jae-in, a blogger for Ulsan City Hall.
I packed a mat and visited the Mama Festival held by the Ulsan Buk-gu Office.
There were various events such as "Magic," "Mime," "Balloon Art Show," "Pierrot Band," "Bubble Show," and a "Photo Zone."
I'd like to share my review of the festival.
I visited the magic show with my baby, who is just over a year old.
Since magic involves disappearing acts and sudden appearances, it felt like my baby was enjoying the 'instant visual stimulation' rather than understanding the performance.
The magic show requires following the storyline and has continuous surprise elements like 'Where did it go?' It seemed like it would be most enjoyable for children aged 3 and older.
There was also a large moving robot that appeared on site.
As soon as my one-year-old saw it, they started crying! There were many other sculptures around, but this robot moved its head and waved its hand when you got close,
capturing the attention of not only children but also adults.
The reaction was so good that people were lining up to take photos.
Bubble Show
I heard that bubble shows are most affected by the weather and humidity.
Even a slight breeze can cause the bubbles to burst before they get big, so the performer was constantly busy creating a continuous stream of bubbles.
I almost felt sorry for them just watching.
Magic Show
While watching the magic show, I couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow... wow... how did they do that?"
I even tried to imitate the tricks with my hands and analyze the principles myself... In the end, I was more focused than my baby.
There are breaks in between the magic performances.
During those breaks, you can take pictures at the photo zone right next to the stage, so it's great for creating memories as well as watching the show.
It's also a good way to change the baby's mood and take family photos.
Mime Performance
I had seen mime performances on TV several times, but this was my first time seeing one live.
The unique movements that express everything without words are truly amazing, but it's definitely a classic performance, so the flow is somewhat predictable.
However, the children seemed more focused because it was a new genre for them.
They reacted to every movement and followed along with wide eyes, which was so cute.
Balloon Art Show
I really enjoyed the balloon art performance the most.
There was a time when they quickly made swords, flowers, and animals out of art balloons with music and handed them out to the children.
At that moment, I was waving my hand without realizing it... I felt like I would lose weight from waving my hand so much.
I was waving enthusiastically, shouting "Here! Here!" to get one for my baby, but unfortunately, I didn't get one in the end.
Still, seeing the babies' expressions and the balloon creations in that passionate atmosphere made me feel great even though I didn't get one.
From the Pierrot music to the bubble show and the final magic show, I really lost track of time.
My baby laughed, was surprised, clapped, and followed the performances, and before I knew it, the sun was setting.
My husband especially seemed to have lingering feelings, as he has been saying, "I want to see that magic show again" for weeks.
The event itself was so well-organized for families to enjoy, that I really hope it will be held again if there is a chance.
Highly recommend the Mama Festival. ????????
