Warm spring days continue, and it seems we have fully entered the season. It's a great time for outings, and I would like to introduce a place where you can enjoy the spring atmosphere: Gosrak in Hamyeol-eup, Iksan.

Gosrak is an agricultural corporation that produces traditional sauces. The name 'Gosrak' means 'the best' in Korean. It features a beautiful garden spread over 30,000 pyeong, adorned with around 5,000 jars. The large jar display, collected from across the country, is captivating.

Although Gosrak is primarily known for producing traditional sauces, it has become a popular spot for visitors to enjoy its beautiful garden. There is a spacious path lined with jars, a restaurant, a cafe, and a sauce shop. Recently, a gallery showcasing works by master artisans and an experiential area have opened, enhancing its appeal as a tourist destination.

The garden path with jar landscapes is particularly stunning. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by rows of large jars, creating a spectacular scene surrounded by a traditional tiled-roof wall. Standing at the corner of the wall, the jars blend beautifully, providing a sense of tranquility and nostalgia.

In front of the office building, various uniquely shaped jars are displayed, creating a charming outdoor art gallery atmosphere. Behind them are jars filled with soybean paste and red pepper paste, perfect for memorable photographs.

As you move deeper into the garden, a small pond comes into view, where geese and ducks roam freely. The surrounding trees are yet to bloom, but the water reflects the vitality of spring.

Continuing past the pond, you'll find a newly opened building that serves as a gallery for traditional pottery by master artisans. This building is designed to function as a wedding hall, cafe, and experiential area, currently open on weekends, with weekday access when the cafe is open.

Inside the gallery, there is a dedicated space showcasing the essence of Korean pottery. The gallery also features works from artisans and jars made in the North Korean city of Hyesan, making it a meaningful gift for visitors interested in pottery.

In front of the gallery, a spacious circular plaza has been created. This open area is beautifully arranged with jars, providing a picturesque setting for outdoor weddings.

As you walk through the newly landscaped garden, a barrier-free path has been established for wheelchair accessibility. Magnolias bloom alongside the path, adding to the garden's charm.

Gosrak continues to evolve, planting many trees to create a green sanctuary, particularly featuring golden pines. A stream flows through the pine forest, with a bridge overhead, making it a lovely spot to enjoy coffee by the water.

There is also a colorful tunnel structure that serves as a great photo backdrop. Ascending to the observation deck offers a panoramic view of Gosrak, with seating available for visitors to relax and take in the scenery.

Descending from the observation deck leads to a stone wall path adorned with climbing plants, perfect for contemplation. Further down, you will find a maple tree path, which is especially beautiful in autumn with its vibrant red leaves.

Gosrak also features jars buried underground, containing soy sauce that matures for three years in the earth. The path leads to the Pansong path, where various pine trees, including the unique Pansong, can be found.

Gosrak includes a restaurant (Ihwa-dongsan) and a cafe, where visitors can purchase traditional sauce products. The cafe features a traditional fermentation room, providing a unique photo opportunity.

On a sunny spring day, I enjoyed a stroll around Gosrak, reaffirming it as a delightful spot for a spring outing. If you're looking for a place to visit in spring, I highly recommend Gosrak in Iksan.
