2025 Yangju Year-End Concert Experience

As the year comes to an end, there are often various performance announcements in Yangju.
This time, I attended the 2025 Yangju Year-End Concert over the weekend.
I went without much expectation, but it turned out to be a delightful performance that I enjoyed comfortably.
The concert was held at the Yehyang Church Hall in Goeup-dong, Yangju.
Upon arrival, I received my ticket and pamphlet and was surprised by how spacious the performance hall was.
There was plenty of room to sit comfortably while waiting for the performance to start.
Every year, the Yangju City Choir and the Yangju City Symphony Orchestra hold a New Year Concert and a Year-End Concert.
As a result, many citizens look forward to the Yangju Year-End Concert.
The event was hosted by announcer Lee Na-eun, who provided brief introductions to the pieces being performed.
Thanks to her guidance, I was able to follow along without losing the flow, making it enjoyable even for those new to classical music.
The first half featured the Yangju City Choir.
Starting with Carl Jenkins' 'Celebrate and Rejoice' and continuing to Jo Hye-young's 'Fantastic Christmas,' the songs perfectly captured the festive atmosphere.
When familiar carols like 'Jingle Bells' and 'White Christmas' were performed, it lifted everyone's spirits.
The combination of band and choir performances was also impressive.
Thanks to conductor Ji Hyun-jeong and accompanist Kim Soo-eun, the familiar songs sounded richer.
After a break, the second half featured the Yangju City Symphony Orchestra.
This performance marked conductor Kwon Seong-jun's debut stage in Yangju.
They performed selections from Prokofiev's 'Romeo and Juliet,' including Montague and Capulet, the farewell of Romeo and Juliet, and Tybalt's death, each piece offering a different atmosphere.
With explanations from the conductor, it was easy to understand, and ballet visuals on the screen enhanced the experience.
The second half concluded with Ravel's 'Spanish Rhapsody,' followed by a joint performance from the Yangju City Choir and the Yangju City Symphony Orchestra.
The winter children's medley was bright and cheerful, creating an atmosphere enjoyable for all ages.
The audience applauded continuously, and the concert ended with an encore of 'Though Life May Deceive You.'
The 2025 Yangju Year-End Concert was a wonderful event to enjoy comfortably at the year's end.
Listening to warm music allowed us to naturally feel the festive spirit, and I would recommend this performance to everyone.
