This summer, I participated in a program called Seoripul Architecture School.

(First day commute)

It was a 3-week program, meeting every Sunday for 5 hours (+ extra time). We worked in teams of 4-5 students with one architect.

On the first day, we shared our thoughts on the kind of house we wanted to live in and then went on a tour of the National Museum of Korea.

Valuable Memory

(Not bad, right?)

Apparently, that lake was created to prevent the artifact storage from being flooded when the Han River overflowed... plus, it's got the classic Korean *baesan imsu* (mountain in the back, water in the front) setup.

Our team's architect was Mr. Son Doo-ho. He was totally doing his own thing, so we skipped the official tour given by the architecture firm that built the museum and wandered around on our own. (Which was great!)

The huge stone pagoda in the National Museum of Korea is modeled after the houses of that era, apparently...

Hopeful Tomorrow

The architect explained a lot of things and gave us a lot to think about, so I enjoyed the museum for the first time ever!!

I also visited the famous Room of Contemplation, but it was so popular that it was packed with people. Contemplation was impossible.

(Still managed to get some decent pictures though)

Peaceful Scenery

I got a little closer to a friend my age from Joongdong High School, Ho-jae, which made me happy~

But as soon as this ended, I had to rush to Daechi without even eating, so it was a crazy schedule. *tlqkf* (Korean internet slang for 'f*** my life').

Second week!!

Just a complete labor day...

Constantly thinking, drawing up plans, changing them, making mass models, cutting them up and rearranging them, cutting and pasting styrofoam...

More changing, revising, changing...

Ugh, it was just too hard.

Warm Memories

First mass model // It got completely destroyed after trying various things.

Third week was also labor day ㅠ

It was supposed to start at 1 PM, but they called us in at 10 AM.

To satisfy the district head...

Dreamlike Moment

It might not look like much changed, but we made a lot of revisions and drew up some seriously stylish plans and built an awesome model with a ton of labor (the stairs were a real pain to make).

Then they made us present it... super nerve-wracking... it was tough...

I did a good job presenting and made a pretty good model, so I was even nominated for the final top 5, but I got eliminated ㅠ

Aiming for next year.

Bright Future

Whew, that was hard.

But it was really fun, so I think I'll do it again next year?

(See you next year, Ho-jae~)

Warm Memories

I'll be back with another blog post... Bye bye!
