Escape Room Review: Golden Key Utopia Ship Konkuk University Branch - Flash
Finally tried an escape room near Konkuk University! Haha.
Since it was a horror theme, we needed a 'tank' (a person who isn't easily scared), and luckily, an angel tank joined us, so we had a comfortable experience.
But my expectations were completely shattered. 😭

I was worried because it said it was on the 4th floor...
Yeah... no elevator, only stairs... Hahaha.
The theme synopses I saw on the way up! There are only two themes here, so it's a great place to 'graduate' (complete all themes).
This is the entrance. If you've made a reservation, you need to go to the waiting area, which is half a floor up.
So it feels like going up to the 5th floor... Phew... It was really tough. ㅠㅠ
There are lockers and indoor shoes in front of the waiting area.
Change into indoor shoes and put all your belongings, including your phone, in the cabinet!
I went into the waiting room, and it was so cool! It was so cool to the point you get chilly after a while!
At Golden Key Utopia Ship Konkuk University Branch, you need to arrive 15 minutes before the theme time to use the theme without any time deduction!
There were more explanations than I thought. ㅠㅠ
You need to scan the QR code and fill out the consent form.
People who come to 'graduate' need to fill out a consent form for each theme! You can't select multiple themes at once. ㅠㅠㅠ
After completing the consent form, a staff member comes and explains the rules.
Before the staff comes, you can read the theme description, but I won't upload it separately because taking pictures is prohibited!
I took pictures inside the store after playing!
I found out that 'Flash' won an award in the horror/thriller category at the 2022 Awards?? I didn't know...
So that's why it's still so popular. Amazing!
Following the staff's guidance, we naturally entered the theme!
Even though we used full hints, we only got to 80% and failed to escape... ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
There's no separate board, but they take pictures. I took pictures at once after doing 'Now Here'.
They had photo props, so I used them and took pictures!
They take pictures with your personal phone!!
After playing the theme, they give you tickets!
The store concept is so cool!
Next time, I'll have to do 'Flash' as an observer... 😭

I'm a scaredy-cat, but I can do horror themes if I'm not alone.
I don't get scared easily, but I get scared when someone else gets scared.
I don't like long texts.
I have to see the ending even if I use hints.

We used full hints, but failed to escape.
Ugh, it's grotesque... I don't like this kind of story... I feel a sense of rejection. ㅋㅋㅋ
But since it's connected to 'Now Here', you have to do it if you want to enjoy it?!
You can feel the ship from the store name... ㅋㅋㅋ It really feels like being inside a real ship??
But wow... that one part in the middle was so... scary because the interior was so realistic.. sob ㅠㅠ
I don't know why I failed...? ㅋㅋㅋ I didn't know the order of the problems, and I spent too much time on simple things, so I used hints even after a little time passed. ㅠㅠ But I still failed to escape... sob
It's such a famous horror theme that it was just scary. I'm an extremely scared person who doesn't scream often, but I screamed really loud once. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Wow... it's really scary. ㅠㅠㅠㅠ
It's just walking activity, but there are things you have to do, so a skirt would be uncomfortable. ㅠㅠㅠ
Wear pants for horror themes!!
I recommend 2 to 3 people! More than that would be crowded and some people would just standing there watching. ㅠㅠㅠ
But 2 people is the best. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
I don't know why, but it was just a difficult theme... There were so many things that made me wonder, 'Is this the right way to do it?' ㅋㅋㅋ ㅠㅠ
I'm usually very satisfied with most horror themes, but this one was a little... disappointing. ㅠㅠ I'll definitely come back as an observer next time!!
