Run safe everyone!

I've been putting in the miles lately.

Even though I've been running for a while (though not consistently...), I've never hit 100km in a month before.

Since seriously starting up again in July,

my goal is to reach 100km a month!

As of today, August 20th, I've run 65km.

I've run 9 times in the past 20 days... I'm not sure how much I can run in the remaining 10 days, so it's a bit touch and go.

I got excited yesterday and ran a whopping 10km after work.

So, the fact that I'm super exhausted is a major variable.

Hopeful Tomorrow

August 2nd, the first run after coming back from Fuji Rock Festival.

I remember throwing up after running that day because I was so tired...

I'm going to remember it as a symbolic day, my first time throwing up from running...

At that moment, after the run, I looked up at the sky and was shocked (?) that the same sun was shining on Naeba Resort, where Fuji Rock was held, and here (Geumgok-dong).

Mysterious Appearance

A week later, I got my condition back up and ran 11km!

This time, I ran on a course I hadn't tried much.

Normally, if I run along the Tancheon Stream, I only run along the Tancheon, and if I run on the track, I only run on the track!

But that day, I even ran to the track (about 5km).

I even brought the running bag I bought for Fuji Rock and a water bottle, but it really messed with my pace in the beginning.

But as soon as I arrived at the track and threw the bag down, it was like taking off a sandbag!

It was so exciting to experience my pace gradually increasing for the first time.

I actually wanted to run a little more, but I figured it's a rule that you get injured if you show off at times like these, so I restrained myself.

Happy Time

The soccer field was being used by young kids that day.

Children are a great inspiration when viewed from a distance.

Up close... tiring... haha.

Mysterious Appearance

And a few days later, I went for my first ever Gyeongbokgung Palace run.

There's a running expert at my company,

and thanks to their initiative, I went to the Bukchon New Balance Run Hub for the first time.

Apparently, it's hot among runners these days?

Actually, I've seen it a lot on YouTube, haha.

It's almost a 10-minute distance from my company, so I can say it's in the 'New Balance zone'!

They lend out New Balance running shoes and clothes!

Most of all, you can borrow carbon-plated shoes...

Carbon-plated shoes... exciting...

I picked them up briefly, and they were really, really light...

And the cushioning in the heel was no joke.

Valuable Experience

It costs about 9,000 won to rent carbon shoes + bottoms + top.

Seriously, why did they decorate the inside so nicely?

There are lockers and changing rooms.

You could literally just stop by after work without any preparation and go for a run. Seriously!

Warm Memories

I visited a little after 6:30 PM on a weekday and waited for about 50 minutes.

But the point is that we were the last waiting group...

You probably have to go before 7 PM on weekdays.

(They're open until 9:30 PM, but that's the closing time after returning everything, so it's safer to go before 7 PM if you want to borrow something.)

Beautiful Scenery

The picture is super blurry~

I started running around sunset, so it was nice and cool.

Luckily, the path was wider than I thought.

Since it's definitely not a path made for running, safety first! Safety second!

Hopeful Tomorrow

I ran about 8km that day.

One lap seems to be about 3km.

I was going to stop after 6km, but the running pro asked, "One more lap?!"

And I instinctively ran another lap...

Why can't I ever refuse when a fit guy asks me to run more...?

I look too skinny in the picture, so I photoshopped it myself, haha.

Anyway, that's me, haha.

Carbon shoe review: I definitely felt the bouncy sensation~

As someone who used to wear stability shoes, I felt very unstable...

Which is understandable!

Glamorous Scene

But they're definitely the best for racing.

It's worth experiencing once,

but if I visit again next time, I'll try the 1080, haha.

(And they don't lend out running socks, so you have to bring your own... haha.

Or you have to run in socks like mine.)

Some of the things I bought to motivate myself. I like these:

I bought this water bottle because I'm going to do long-distance runs now.

I also bought running pants to hold this water bottle.

I bought this useless bandana too, haha.

(Looks kind of weird~)

Anyway! I have to run hard for the rest of August~

I'm going to reach 100km for sure!

Happy Time

Lately, I've been listening to Young Man a lot while running.

Being moved by these lyrics and indulging in nonexistent sadness,

then going out and running it all out,

that's my joy these days.

Real Korea, Curated for Global Travelers

WassupKorea is a next-generation platform designed for foreigners who want to truly experience Korea — not just as tourists, but as locals. While countless Koreans have shared their daily lives, food experiences, and cultural tips through blogs, videos, and social media, much of this valuable content remains locked behind language barriers. WassupKorea solves this by collecting and curating high-quality local content and making it accessible to global audiences through real-time AI-powered translation. Instead of superficial recommendations, users gain access to authentic, first-hand stories — from hidden street food spots to weekend mountain hikes — written by Koreans for Koreans, now reinterpreted for the world.

AI-Powered Personalization, Translation, and Voice Interaction

What sets WassupKorea apart is its deep integration of artificial intelligence at the core of the platform. AI matches users with personalized content based on their language, nationality, and travel interests. Whether you're looking for vegan Korean food in Jeonju or part-time job tips in Seoul, the platform's smart engine brings the most relevant, timely posts to the forefront. Every piece of content — blog summaries, local guides, user comments — is instantly translated using advanced AI translators. Users can also listen to posts via natural-sounding voice AI in their own language. Real-time voice translation in community chats allows for live conversations between users from different countries. With voice synthesis, AI can even "learn" your voice preferences to create a more natural and immersive experience.

A Living Community Driven by Local Content and Global Connection

WassupKorea is more than just an information portal — it’s an AI-driven community hub that grows smarter as users interact. Travelers and residents alike can share their own content via links from TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube, or directly post on the platform. AI categorizes the content, suggests similar posts, and connects users with shared interests. Foreigners living in Korea can also access essential resources like visa tips, rental guides, job listings, and lifestyle hacks. As more content is generated and more interactions occur, the AI refines its recommendations — creating a dynamic feedback loop that benefits every user. WassupKorea bridges the gap between Korea’s deep local knowledge and the global audience eager to explore it, forming a smart, multilingual, and inclusive platform for everyone curious about life in Korea.
