A Trip to Seoul for Nose Stitch Removal and a Bit of Fun

I came to Seoul to get the stitches removed from my nose.

It's convenient to come because my siblings live here. I can crash at their place without worrying about accommodation costs… haha.

Ah… finally, the splint is off, and my nose feels so much cooler! Phew…

Only the stitches under my nose were removed; I have to come back next week to remove the ones inside my nose.

I'm still bruised and swollen, so it's hard to tell, but…

I'm a little taken aback because my nose looks bigger than I expected. ㅠㅠ

It feels like they pulled every last bit of my short, upturned nose… It feels longer now, which is a good thing that I have a bridge on my nose.

It's my nose to live with from now on, so I'll have to get used to it. Yoroshikune (よろしくね - Nice to meet you in Japanese, used here in a playful way)...

But I'm going crazy because I have so much mucus!

Dreamlike moment

Since I was in Seoul, I wanted to get the Demon Slayer 4DX Akaza poster from COEX. Luckily, they had some in stock, so I got it.

I've always thought this key visual was so pretty, and I was content with just having a clear file that they sold in Japan. But then they released a poster… I couldn't resist!

After that, I was meeting my sibling to see Perfect Blue, so on the way out, we had curry at 'Yesterday's Curry' near the alley entrance.

'Yesterday's Curry' where the curry is genuinely delicious.

Sometimes there's even a queue. The pork loin and tenderloin curry is really good. A great katsu restaurant!

On the way to the bus stop, I went to an antique shop that my sibling often visits.

The Itaewon antique street has a lot of furniture and tableware, but this shop focuses on smaller items. The owner is really kind and tells you the stories behind each piece.

My sibling once proudly showed me a chair that an officer used during World War II. It's more interesting when they tell you what the product was used for and how.

The owner personally goes to France every year to bring back items.

Every time I went to my sibling's house, it was closed, so this was my first time visiting, and I wondered why I hadn't discovered it sooner. It was such a fun place.

The owner is moving around December and has put the current location up for rent. ㅠㅠ I want to go again before then.

McDonald's toys I wanted to buy.

Amazing sight

The calendar on the wall is cool.

There are so many old items that if you were running a shop with an antique theme, it would be great to buy a lot of props.

What caught my eye in particular were the French postcards at the entrance.

They're really cheap, at 2,000 won each.

There's a collection of old French postcards, from very old ones to relatively more recent ones. Some of them had writing on them, which was so interesting that I bought some.

(My sibling bought them for me)

I bought four kinds. The oldest one is from 1904, and the newest one is from 1986.

After translating them, I found that they contained affectionate greetings, like New Year's greetings, or messages saying they were visiting and would be staying for a certain amount of time.

Some have the full address and post office stamp, while others only have the message.

It's amazing that a postcard written by someone in France over 100 years ago, wishing someone else happiness, ended up here.

The people in the postcards may no longer be alive, but their stories remain. It's a little touching.

Bright future

Additionally, my sibling bought an antique lighter from somewhere else a while ago. The lighter is made in Japan, and it has 'TERESA FIND DAVE' carved on the back.

This lighter is just too romantic…

I'm so curious about the story behind it. Did Teresa and Dave ever meet? What was their relationship?

Charming photo

Anyway, I looked around the antique street for the first time in a while and went to Central Megabox.

I found a really delicious dessert shop in the underground food court.

I think it was called Need Sweets or something like Nits Mall Cash…

The fig earl grey cheesecake was amazing.

It was gluten-free and low-sugar.

Amazing sight

And after watching Perfect Blue, I got another poster.

I walked back across Jamsu Bridge. I think I walked over 5 kilometers?

The Namsan Tower across from me looks amazing.

Mysterious appearance

Even though my sibling and I bicker, they're still my closest and best friend.
