A Day Trip to Seoul: More Than Just Concerts

I've been traveling to Seoul frequently since last year, but the purpose was almost always to see concerts. I was usually just around concert venues like YES24 Live Hall and Olympic Park, so I never had a chance to explore the city properly.
This time, I took a day off to visit Seoul on a weekday to meet a friend who lives there. It felt so refreshing to be in Seoul for a reason other than a concert!
The weather was terrible when I arrived, but after braving the rain and getting to my friend's cafe...
She gave me SO MUCH to eat!!! Yay! Thank you!
We had super delicious Kalguksu (noodle soup) at Gangnam's Choigane Shabu Mushroom Kalguksu >_< This place has amazing fried rice, and the soup is so good you'll want to drink! Even though I wasn't that hungry when we arrived, I remember happily devouring everything.

For dessert, we went to Benson and had ice cream, which made me completely stuffed.
Right after that, we stopped by the Medicube pop-up store at Space Dosan. I ended up getting talked into buying a perfume. That was the start of a BIG spending spree...^^

Next, we headed to Gentle Monster. I was surprised by the vinyl bags and butt sculptures as soon as I walked in! After looking it up, I found out they were by a German artist named Max Siedentopf.
The interior was so interesting that I could have spent hours just looking around.
Which was a problem... because time was flying by! I saw that we were running over our schedule, so we quickly looked around and moved on to Bukchon.
The weather was crazy – raining and then not raining. But the scenery was beautiful.
Window shopping in Bukchon...
I had previously received a sachet from one of these shops as a gift, which I used a lot, so I bought a set. I also bought a bookmark even though I barely read paper books...^^ Lily of the valley flower meanings were so lovely. I think it meant happiness will come.

I don't think I explored these kinds of souvenir shops when I came to Bukchon before, so it was new to me. There were so many pretty and cute stores.

Bukchon Arari
We looked up Arari online and went there, I didn't realize it was only for takeout, which was a bummer. The flavor was unique and interesting. The round things popped in my mouth!
My friend dragged me into a perfume shop!! And I got talked into buying two more perfumes...^^ I don't usually wear perfume, but I've been wanting to. So, now I'm going to wear it whenever I go out.
After looking around, we moved on to Hongdae. I tried my luck with gacha at Daol Sangjeom... and even though I usually have bad luck with those, I had great luck today. Everything I picked out turned out to be good, which was surprising.
I also picked two musical instrument models, and I got the ones I wanted right away... it felt great.

We went to Beluga Music and bought four albums. Honestly, my album luck wasn't bad either. My friend and I both got the photocards we wanted, so it was a win. It was a dopamine-filled and happy time. Then I bought a plush pouch and a photocard holder at Ducky World!! Seoul is such a fun city....
Bistro Sano
Last dinner together ㅠㅠ Dinner was also really, really delicious!! Looking at it now makes me want to eat it again... I went from Apgujeong to Bukchon to Hongdae in just one day, but I was fine because I've been exercising. Aside from almost missing my train back because we left a little late, I did almost everything I wanted to do. It was a perfect day!

Thank you, J, my friend,,,^__^ I usually travel without any planning, but this time I realized the importance of planning... I resolved to at least make minimal plans...^^
The end of a dopamine-filled day, coming back with both hands full!
