Bangiok Jongno Korean BBQ restaurant review - year-end gathering in Jongno

This post is an honest review of Bangiok Jongno, a Korean BBQ spot in the heart of Seoul that’s popular for year-end gatherings.

I’ll quickly cover the essentials—location and hours, the overall vibe and seating privacy, what we ordered, and how it scored in taste, cleanliness, and service.

If you’re looking for a clean, well-ventilated place near Jonggak Station to enjoy grilled meat with friends, this is a solid option to consider.

Hello, this is Minu.

It's already the end of the year. 😭

I have a lot of plans coming up quickly!

For locals, year-end gatherings are usually held in the heart of Seoul, Jongno, right?

(Just my opinion, haha)

Let me share my honest review of the first year-end gathering location in Jongno.

It's Bangiok, a place that grills meat!

Bangiok Jongno: Location and Basic Information

Bangiok Jongno

32, Ujeongguk-ro 2-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul

Location: 5 minutes walk from Jonggak Station, Exit 4

Business Hours: Daily from 10:30 AM to 10:30 PM

Every year, I enjoy the Christmas decorations in Jongno and Jung-gu.

Atmosphere, Seating, and Cleanliness

I found it quite cozy inside, surprisingly!

The seating is divided by partitions, making it feel relatively private.

However, you can hear everyone's voices, so soundproofing is not great.

On the bright side, the restroom was clean!

Menu Notes and What We Ordered

The menu featured beef and pork.

We ordered a platter from Bangiok and then focused on pork dishes.

Although I couldn't take pictures, they offer corkage-free service if you leave a review on Naver.

We brought a bottle of port wine and enjoyed it.

The restaurant also sells a variety of wines, and they provided wine glasses as well.

Side Dishes and Stew

The side dishes were delicious!

Pickled fern, radish pickles, and white kimchi were all tangy and perfectly suited my taste.

Everything was tasty, and refills were available!

They served two portions of soybean paste stew, so we had to share them side by side.

Grilling and Meat Quality

Now, let's grill some meat!

The meat was grilled perfectly!

Platter Set Review and Value

We started with the platter set, which included premium ribs, Jeju fried pork belly, and Jeju pork tomahawk.

They grilled the premium ribs first, and we enjoyed them with mushrooms and vegetables.

The beef was incredibly tasty, with a unique flavor!

The fried pork belly and tomahawk were also delicious, with great texture!

Honestly, I felt the platter set was a bit lacking in value, so we decided to focus on pork afterward.

The quality of the grilled meat was excellent, and the ventilation was top-notch, so there was no lingering smell.

Final Verdict and Ratings

If you're looking for a clean place to enjoy meat in Jongno, visit Bangiok!
