Jongno is the place to be these days!

With K-Pop Demon Hunters blending Korea's past and future, this area of Jongno seems much more crowded with foreign tourists than before.

Visiting Jongno makes me feel like I'm abroad. Today's restaurant pick for pork belly lover Park Chano is Yangtan House near Gyeongbokgung Station.

How to get to Yangtan House, business hours, exterior, and parking information:

Yangtan House is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Gyeongbokgung Station.

To find it, exit Gyeongbokgung Station Exit 2, enter the food street on the left, and turn into the alley on the right. You should be able to find it easily.

Yangtan House...!

Business Hours: Daily 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM (Last Order 10:00 PM)

I visited around 4:45 PM on a weekday, and there were about 3-4 tables occupied. I was able to enter without waiting.

Parking is difficult due to the narrow alley. It's best to use the Gyeongbokgung parking lot or the Hyojadong public parking lot.

It's best to visit without a car if possible.

The interior has a Korean feel. It seems like a great place to bring foreign friends.

Yangtan House Menu and Food Review:

We ordered the 2-person recommended set, Yangtan rice, and two cokes.

The 2-person set includes 2 servings of pork belly or pork shoulder, 1 serving of pork skirt meat, and a soybean paste stew.

We also ordered Yangtan rice (fried rice).

I worked my butt off at the climbing gym this morning to eat this...haha.

Interesting Image

The side dishes were neatly presented, and the salad was the real star...

If the main course wasn't meat, I might have refilled it several times.

It's not the kind of salad we typically think of.

It's potato salad-based, but with breadcrumbs? And a mustard flavor.

It tastes like eating a potato salad sandwich with the chewy texture of moist bread. Unique and delicious.

Charming Photo

And here's the star of the show: the meat.

You have to see its beauty...

The staff grills the glorious meat for you.

Peaceful Landscape

The most exciting sound in the world = the sound of meat grilling on the grill.

The meat is nice and thick, like my belly.

We just have to eat.

Impressive Appearance

They grill it diligently and then add chives at the end.

A work of art is born.

Interesting Image

Cheers!

As always, the first piece of meat is best enjoyed plain or with a touch of salt.

Peaceful Landscape

While we were eating, the soybean paste stew came out.

I could see why it's called a stew, not just a soup.

The meat, mushrooms, and tofu were cooked in a stew style.

It had a spicy kick that cut through the richness of the meat.

Moving Scene

I love wasabi.

I'm not torturing anyone about the location of the independence army base.

Peaceful Landscape

Grilled kimchi, pork belly, and sauce = a guaranteed delicious combination.

Then came the Yangtan rice (fried rice).

They don't fry it on the same grill as the meat; they fry it on a new grill.

Fun Moment

So the flavor is clean. Did they use lard oil?

It tastes exactly like fried rice you'd eat after finishing meat, perfectly.

A fulfilling meal...

We cleared both the meat and the fried rice.

Peaceful Landscape

In Conclusion:

The meat is high quality and delicious.

They grill it for you, which is convenient, and it's a great value.

Yangtan House is a place where you can eat and enjoy yourself comfortably.

Special Moment

If you're having trouble finding a good Korean BBQ restaurant near Gyeongbokgung Station,

this would be a great choice :)

It was a satisfying meal.

Hopeful Tomorrow

The night at Gyeongbokgung is full of romance. It's Seoul at its finest.
