Ample parking space in front of the restaurant
I visited Wow Jeonggumi Hangover Stew, a famous restaurant near Hwaseong Yungneung, on a weekend morning, and here's my review.
There are several hangover stew restaurants in this area, but it's rare to find a place as clean and serving such a proper Korean meal as this one. Let me share my experience!
Wow Jeonggumi Hangover Stew's Gyeonggi Main Branch is located at 427 Sejaro, Bongdam-eup, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, across from Greenpia Hotel at the back gate intersection of Suwon University.
It's easy to get there by car, and there's plenty of parking (about 20 spaces), so I was able to visit without worrying about parking.
Great for Gatherings
Inside Wow Jeonggumi Hangover Stew, the tables are spaced generously, creating an atmosphere perfect for family diners or office lunch gatherings.
There are also separate rooms available, which are often used for group gatherings and company dinners.
I visited during lunchtime, and it was already bustling with customers! Many office workers near Suwon University seemed to be regulars, coming here for lunch.
Seeing this atmosphere, I knew this place was truly a famous restaurant in Yungneung!
Excellent Variety of Menu Options
Wow Jeonggumi Hangover Stew offers a really wide selection of hangover stews.
Looking at the menu, you'll find various types of hangover stew, Jjageuli (braised stew), Grilled Pork Belly, Pork Kimchi Hangover Stew, Dried Pollock Hangover Stew, etc. It's fun to choose according to your mood or taste on the day.
Above all, the prices are under 10,000 won, so it's a great place to come for an affordable meal.
With this variety, even if you come with family or for an office lunch gathering, you won't have any trouble choosing a menu item.
Simple but Delicious Side Dishes
The side dishes are simple: kimchi, pickled Korean melon, chili peppers, and onions.
The pickled Korean melon is tangy and crunchy, which helps to cut through any richness.
The kimchi was also perfectly fermented, and the chili peppers and onions weren't too spicy, making them great to eat with the hangover stew.
Ordered: Two Servings of Intestine Hangover Stew
We ordered two servings of the Intestine Hangover Stew.
What's more, the owner even gave us extra warm seonji (blood sausage) as a service, which was so touching!
The table was set abundantly, and it was really filling.
The Intestine Hangover Stew arrived!
It was served directly in the pot, so it was steaming hot throughout the meal.
The broth never had a chance to cool down.
The real charm of Wow Jeonggumi Hangover Stew is this 'pot service'.
Being able to eat it warm until the end is a really big advantage!
We immediately added the complimentary seonji and boiled it together :)

The broth was rich, savory, clean without any gamey smell, and the intestines were moderately chewy and savory.
I already like seonji, but the seonji at Wow Jeonggumi Hangover Stew near Hwaseong Yungneung was even richer and more savory, and above all, it was fresh with absolutely no gamey smell!
And there were so many intestines inside, from gopchang (small intestines) to lungs and various offal, making it fun to eat with a chewy and savory texture.
The level of spiciness was also just right - a pleasantly spicy taste that even those who can't handle spicy food can enjoy without any burden.
Above all, the rice!
Hangover stew is important at a hangover stew restaurant, but I think the taste of the rice is also really important.
The rice at Wow Jeonggumi Hangover Stew near Hwaseong Yungneung was also savory and slightly sweet, making it even better.
Wow Jeonggumi Hangover Stew near Hwaseong Yungneung is a must-visit place. Overall, the seasoning is not too strong, and the taste is comfortable like home-cooked food, so it's not too stimulating.
Perhaps that's why there were quite a few solo diners even during lunchtime.
A great place for solo dining in Yungneung - this expression fits very well!
The price range is reasonable, and the portions are generous, so it's really great value for money.
The staff is friendly, and the food comes out quickly, so even office workers with short lunch breaks can enjoy a meal without any burden.
I highly recommend Wow Jeonggumi Hangover Stew as a must-visit restaurant near Hwaseong Yungneung!
The broth is so good that you'll want to eat it all up. You have to try it to know.
I was thinking that I should come back next time for the Grilled Pork Belly with soju.
I can confidently recommend Wow Jeonggumi Hangover Stew as a must-visit restaurant among the restaurants in Yungneung.
In this chilly weather, a bowl of warm hangover stew is the perfect remedy.
In that sense, Wow Jeonggumi Hangover Stew is a textbook example of a restaurant in Yungneung that has it all: taste, atmosphere, and service.
Thanks to the intestine hangover stew served in a pot, I was able to eat it warm until the end, and the rich broth without any gamey smell will be remembered for a long time.
If you're wondering where to eat in Bongdam or Yungneung, I highly recommend Wow Jeonggumi Hangover Stew as a must-visit place :)
