Wolmido Rooftop 24: All-You-Can-Eat Grilled Clams near Wolmido Island
Last Saturday, my girlfriend and I went to Wolmido Island for some fresh air and visited a restaurant near Wolmido Island that a friend recommended.
The stunning ocean view was a work of art, and we enjoyed the fresh clams and seafood, so I wanted to leave a review.
1. Wolmido Rooftop 24 Information
Wolmido Rooftop 24, which I visited, is a clam specialty restaurant located in the center of Wolmido Island, making it very accessible.
The top floor had plants reminiscent of palm trees, creating a striking visual that made it easy to find, even though it was my first time there.
Address: 2nd floor, 47 Wolmi munhwa-ro, Jung-gu, Incheon
Hours: Daily 12:00 - 04:30
I always feel good when I come to Wolmido Island. The refreshing ocean view, amusement park rides, and cafes and restaurants with excellent food create many pleasant memories.
2. Interior Atmosphere
The interior of the restaurant near Wolmido Island had an atmosphere reminiscent of a foreign country. I was happy to see the beautiful ocean, and the round tables and seats were hygienically maintained, making the long trip worthwhile.
The restaurant is divided into the 2nd and 3rd floors, with plenty of seating and ample space between tables, making it comfortable and not at all cramped.
Subtle orange lighting was installed throughout, creating a bright atmosphere.
We sat by the window with a view of the sea. Although it was hot, the air conditioning was turned up high, and the fans were constantly running, so we were able to converse and enjoy our meal without any discomfort.
This restaurant near Wolmido Island offers high-quality shellfish. Many cheap all-you-can-eat places mainly offer three types: *Meretrix lusoria*, ark shell, and pen shell.
Wolmido Rooftop offers high-quality shellfish such as *Meretrix lusoria*, ark shell, *Patinopecten yessoensis*, stone clams, cockles, abalone, hard clam, and *Cyclina sinensis*.
I was even more impressed to learn that the Wolmido grilled clam restaurant cleans its tanks twice a week.
The saltwater tanks for pre-cleaning and storage are managed separately, so you can enjoy fresh clams.
We ordered the all-you-can-eat grilled clams. First, the basic side dishes came out, and even *Jjondeugi* (Korean chewy snack) was provided.
The fire blazed, and the *Jjondeugi* was quickly cooked, so I took a bite right away. It was chewy and savory, making it perfect as a starter.
2. Live Octopus
The Wolmido grilled clam restaurant offers live octopus as a service for writing a receipt review. The bite-sized octopus is served with shredded cucumber, sesame powder, and sesame oil.
I mixed it well and took a bite, and because the octopus was well-managed, there was no fishy taste at all. It was chewy and had a good sea scent, so I couldn't stop using my chopsticks.
3. All-You-Can-Eat Grilled Clams
As you can see, the Wolmido grilled clam restaurant provides large plates. Unlike other all-you-can-eat places, they compete solely on the quality of their clams.
Nearby grilled clam restaurants offer sauces and other menu items in addition to clams, but this restaurant near Wolmido Island competes by offering fresh and high-quality clam varieties.
The Wolmido grilled clam restaurant offers various types of clams, including scallops and pen shells, as well as abalone and conch. Among them, the scallops were really fresh and delicious.
The clams at Wolmido Grilled Clam Restaurant are well-prepared, and the clams are topped with pickles, chili peppers, and plenty of onions, adding a crunchy texture and flavor.
Seaweed soup, tempura, and even cheese were generously provided. It's good to eat as is, and it's also good to dip the clams in.
The fire was so strong that they cooked quickly. The scallops were plump, and while other places often serve mostly ark shells, the scallops at this restaurant near Wolmido Island are fresh and plump.
Each clam had a different flavor, but the common denominator was that they were fresh.
There was no smell at all, and they were chewy and perfectly seasoned, so sauce wasn't really necessary.
4. Fresh Abalone
The abalone was served live. I grilled it right away, dipped it in cheese, and put it in my mouth. It was chewy and didn't have the unique fishy taste of seafood, and the innards were fresh, so I enjoyed it without any aversion.
5. Pen Shell
Pen shell was a delicacy among delicacies. I rolled it in cheese and took a big bite, and it was charming to enjoy the original flavor of the pen shell without any sauce.
The cheese used at this restaurant near Wolmido Island is said to be 100% natural cheese, while other stores say they use 30-40% natural cheese.
As the first rooftop in Wolmido, the open view of the sea is really attractive, but the friendly service and the freshness of the clams are so satisfying that I couldn't help but give it a thumbs up.
Look at the plump flesh. It wasn't fishy and it was chewy, and it melted in my mouth, so I couldn't help but smile as I chewed.
We ordered the all-you-can-eat, so we asked for additional scallops. This restaurant near Wolmido Island generously provides a variety of types, but the quantity was so generous that I couldn't refill it much.
Since I came by car, I couldn't drink, but my girlfriend had a glass of beer. To be honest, I really wanted to drink soju, and as the side dish was so good, I had an urge to overdrink with the view.
6. Overall Review of the Restaurant near Wolmido Island
The 3rd floor rooftop is an attractive space with a great view. It can be a little hot in the summer, so I would recommend using it at night.
This restaurant in Wolmido is a grilled clam specialty restaurant that competes with the original taste of clams. I was able to recognize the owner's mindset of emphasizing the basics, and I had a pleasant time with the wonderful ocean view and spacious space, so I plan to go again next time.
