Uwa Hae: Premium Korean Hanwoo Experience Near Seolleung Station

Seolleung Station is a frequent meeting spot for work, so deciding where to eat lunch can be a real challenge. Today, my colleague and I were on the hunt for a place where we could enjoy delicious Korean Hanwoo beef and have a satisfying meal. With the chilly weather, we were craving a warm soup, and luckily, we discovered 'Uwa Hae,' a 1++ NO.9 Hanwoo specialty butcher restaurant near Seolleung Station. The unique 'Marketaurant' concept, offering menus developed by a Michelin-starred chef, made us even more excited. Although it was an unfamiliar neighborhood, the vibrant atmosphere of Teheran-ro made us eager to find this culinary gem.
Even from the outside, Uwa Hae's Seolleung main branch exuded luxury. The clean and sophisticated interior continued the upscale feel inside. The warm lighting and comfortable seating made for a great first impression. We visited for a light Hanwoo lunch, but it seemed like a perfect spot for a fancy dinner with wine. The fact that it's open 24 hours is a major plus!
One of Uwa Hae's biggest selling points is its premium 'Two-Plus Hanwoo.' They butcher the cattle in-house, selecting only the highest grade 1++ Hanwoo with the highest marbling score of 9. It's amazing that you can enjoy such fresh and high-quality Hanwoo at one of the most reasonable prices in Korea! We ordered the sirloin and short rib, known for their tenderness and rich flavor. The Hanwoo that arrived at our table looked so fresh and appetizing that it made our mouths water just looking at it.
As soon as the meat hit the grill, the savory aroma filled the air and whetted our appetites. The moment I put a piece in my mouth, I was instantly impressed by the tenderness and rich beefy flavor. The abundant juices released with each chew were simply outstanding. Eating it with the side dishes added even more variety to the flavors. I especially liked pairing it with the homemade pickles, which cut through the richness and provided a clean finish.
After enjoying the Hanwoo, we couldn't pass up a refreshing noodle dish. Uwa Hae offers a variety of noodle options, including Hamheung Naengmyeon (cold noodles), Hamheung Bibim Naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles), and Makguksu (buckwheat noodles). We ordered the Hamheung Naengmyeon, known for its refreshing and clean broth, and the Hamheung Bibim Naengmyeon, which boasts a spicy and sweet sauce. The neatly presented and appetizing noodles offered a cool respite from the heat.
The chewy noodles and chilled broth of the Hamheung Naengmyeon were a perfect combination. Adding a touch of pungent mustard and tangy vinegar made it even more refreshing and delicious. The spicy and sweet sauce of the Hamheung Bibim Naengmyeon was perfectly balanced with the noodles, creating an addictive flavor. Eating it with the crisp vegetables added texture and a satisfying finish. If you want a more substantial meal, I recommend adding seasoned crab.
Uwa Hae is more than just a place with delicious meat. The menus, personally developed and revamped by chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants and five-star hotels, offer a unique gourmet experience that's hard to find elsewhere. You can feel the care and attention in every menu item, from the basic table setting to the main courses and side dishes. In particular, their food philosophy of minimizing artificial seasonings and using only natural ingredients shows their sincerity towards their customers.
I was also impressed by their dedication to using only domestic ingredients and making and aging all their seasonings and sauces in-house. The stews and soups, simmered for hours every morning, offer a comforting and deep flavor like homemade meals. With the concept of a 'Marketaurant,' Uwa Hae seems to be setting a new standard for the dining scene by offering the best taste and service at the most reasonable prices.
Uwa Hae lives up to its reputation as a 1++ NO.9 Hanwoo specialty butcher restaurant with its luxurious and comfortable atmosphere. The spacious restaurant has pleasant tables and private rooms, making it ideal for family meals or important gatherings. When we visited, many guests were already enjoying delicious meals. I liked that the overall atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, allowing us to focus on our food.
The availability of private rooms makes it perfect for company dinners or other gatherings. I think you can have a good time with delicious food in a pleasant and quiet space. The friendly and attentive service was also satisfying. The staff always greeted us with a smile and took care of our needs, allowing us to enjoy our meal in comfort.
Uwa Hae is known for offering top-quality Two-Plus Hanwoo and excellent dishes at reasonable prices. Furthermore, the fact that you can enjoy over 30 types of wine selected by a wine expert at wine shop prices is a great advantage. They also offer a corkage-free policy, so you can enjoy wine without worrying about an extra charge.
Enjoying a glass of wine with the Hanwoo made for a richer and more enjoyable meal. Of course, whiskey and other alcoholic beverages were also available, but the combination with wine was said to be particularly good, so I'm thinking of trying different types of wine on my next visit. The fact that you can enjoy all of this at a reasonable price makes Uwa Hae special.
If you're looking for delicious Yang Gomtang (oxtail soup) near Seolleung Station, or if you want to have an elegant meal on a special day, I highly recommend Uwa Hae Seolleung Main Branch. Everything from the top-quality Two-Plus Hanwoo to the carefully prepared dishes was excellent, and the service was also satisfying. Next time, I want to bring my parents and have a good time with delicious Hanwoo. The fact that it's open 24 hours is also a big plus.
