Uchujin

Located in the food court of Lotte Department Store near Jamsil Station,
Uchujin caught my attention with its rich, authentic Japanese ramen aroma.
Having been featured on 'Master of Living,'
my expectations were naturally high.
If you're a ramen enthusiast, this is a must-visit spot!
(My own money, honest review)
A review of Uchujin Lotte Department Store Jamsil Branch, a Jamsil Station 맛집 (delicious restaurant) serving delicious Japanese ramen.
Basic Information:
Restaurant Name: Uchujin Lotte Department Store Jamsil Branch
Location: Lotte Department Store Jamsil Branch, B1 Food Court, 240 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul
Operating Hours:
Mon-Thu: 10:30 - 20:00 (Last Order 19:30)
Fri-Sun: 10:30 - 20:30 (Last Order 20:00)
Uchujin, situated in a corner of the food court, immediately stands out with its 'Master of Living' certification sign.
The open kitchen with glass walls allows you to see the staff directly boiling noodles
and preparing the ramen broth, which felt very hygienic.
In front, various fried items are displayed,
allowing you to choose meal combinations beyond ramen, such as tonkatsu or fried sets.
The restaurant is generally clean
and has a casual Japanese ramen shop atmosphere.
There's a long bar table perfect for 혼밥 (dining alone),
and when your food is ready, they will bring it to you when the buzzer rings.
Menu & Prices:
Karai Tantanmen All-Star: ₩14,900
Mini Chashu Donburi: ₩4,000
King Tonkatsu: ₩14,900
Total: ₩33,800
The menu offers a variety of options, from ramen to tonkatsu and rice bowls.
I ordered the Tantanmen with double the toppings!
Food Review:
I chose the Karai Tantanmen for my ramen,
and the broth was rich and savory with a sesame base
and a spicy kick.
The chashu was especially thick and tender,
making it perfect to eat with the broth.
Doubling the toppings made it even more satisfying.
The Mini Chashu Donburi is a must-order.
The smoky flavor of the meat and the savory seasoning
pair perfectly with the ramen broth.
The portion is small, but it's the perfect side dish and I highly recommend it.
The King Tonkatsu is served with a generous amount of old-fashioned sauce.
The outside is crispy and the inside is tender,
but the portion was so large that I couldn't finish it.
The basic side dishes are danmuji (yellow pickled radish), kimchi, and pickled ginger,
all served neatly.
• Rich ramen flavor and high-quality chashu
• Mini Chashu Donburi is a perfect match for ramen
• Tonkatsu is crispy and generous in portion, in an old-fashioned style
• Overall, a high-quality Japanese meal, despite being in a food court
• I would revisit
If you're looking for rich, authentic Japanese ramen near Jamsil Station,
I highly recommend Uchujin Lotte Department Store Jamsil Branch!
Especially the Karai Tantanmen + Mini Chashu Donburi combination!
