Once upon a time, it seemed like every neighborhood had a squid bulgogi restaurant.

One by one, they started disappearing.

Now, unless you specifically seek them out,

it's hard to find this dish.

The first restaurant that comes to mind is

Baegeong in Apgujeong Rodeo.

Another option is

Seolleung Squid Landscape.

I visited Gunsan Squid in Jamsil once before,

and it had been a long time since I last came to this

old squid bulgogi restaurant in Jamsil.

A side of bean sprout soup is served,

with the bean sprouts separated,

probably meant to be mixed with the squid bulgogi seasoning.

The lettuce is available at a self-service bar.

I ordered squid tempura (17,000 won),

and the portion is so big

that I can never finish it,

but it's a must-have at a squid bulgogi restaurant.

I opted for level 2 spiciness for the squid bulgogi.

I also ordered jjamppong noodles (3,000 won).

After trying jjamppong noodles at 'Dakuroga' in Apgujeong,

I believe that jjamppong is essential for this type of grilled dish,

and I confirmed that once again.

For the stir-fried pork (18,000 won),

I only ordered squid for the tempura,

but I went with stir-fried pork.

The visual of the frozen pork belly was a bit disappointing,

but since it's a dish meant to be enjoyed with seasoning...

The seasoning of Gunsan squid has a mild spiciness,

with a slight hint of sweetness,

making it the perfect seasoning.

The jjamppong noodles blended very well with the seasoning.

For fried rice (3,000 won),

I added torn lettuce like at Songnim Restaurant in Jayang-dong.

I enjoy mixing the rice with the dish after eating about half of the stir-fried squid or pork.

This is how I like to enjoy these types of grilled dishes.

A restaurant that has survived for a long time must have its reasons.

The seasoning is not overwhelmingly sweet,

which I found very satisfying.
