This place, located near Sungnyemun, is a real favorite among local office workers.

Exterior and Interior

Seoul Gogi House is right next to Sungnyemun Gate. It's very famous for its kimchi stew.

At lunchtime, it's packed with office workers – a true local hotspot.

I visited almost as soon as they opened, so I was able to get in without waiting. I heard there's usually a wait during weekday lunch hours.

Bright Future

The interior is very spacious and pleasant.

There are so many air conditioners that it was very cool. Sometimes, meat restaurants or places that use fire can be too hot in the summer if they don't have enough AC.

But this place has no such worries. I enjoyed my meal in a very cool environment.

Joyful Moment

Menu

Seoul Gogi House specializes in Jeju pork and various types of kimchi stew.

On this day, after more than 10 years, I tried the canned mackerel kimchi stew for the first time!

I had always wanted to try it, but hesitated because I was worried about the taste. But if it's at this kimchi stew specialty restaurant, I had to try it!

The best part? The hot pot rice!

King Egg Roll: ₩10,000

Attractive Photo

They also serve kimchi, seasoned black beans, and delicious seaweed.

We always hesitate to order the egg roll when we order two servings of kimchi stew, but we ordered it anyway.

Thinking we would pack up the leftovers?

Touching Scene

As expected, the portions were so large that we couldn't even finish half. I asked them to pack up the leftover egg roll and enjoyed it at home.

Two servings of Canned Mackerel Kimchi Stew: ₩20,000

The flavor I had forgotten! I hadn't had it since my mom occasionally made it when I was young.

I was worried it might taste fishy, but at this kimchi stew specialty restaurant, it was delicious without any fishy taste.

Hopeful Tomorrow

It even made me think about trying to make it at home.

This place is a local favorite that serves hot pot rice.

The rice was so delicious.

It was so glossy and shiny!

Precious Memory

I really love restaurants that serve hot pot rice.

Located near Seoul Station and Sungnyemun Gate, it's a local favorite among office workers.

Bright Future

I think anyone would enjoy a meal of kimchi stew with hot pot rice.

I've been to a few places that are called the top 3 kimchi stew restaurants in Seoul, but personally, I liked this place the best because of the hot pot rice.

I want to go back again and again.
