1. Exterior of the Seogwipo Braised Cutlassfish Restaurant
This place has a view of Sanbangsan Mountain at a glance, so I felt good even before entering the restaurant. It's also close to surrounding tourist attractions, making it the perfect location to visit right after breakfast.
The parking lot was also very large, so I could park comfortably even during busy times, which was convenient. They also allow pets, and I saw quite a few people traveling with their pets, which showed their consideration.
This restaurant specializes in boneless braised cutlassfish made with fresh seafood from Jeju's waters. Locals frequent this place. The prices are reasonable, so I could enjoy it without feeling burdened. After trying it myself, I understood why it's called a 맛집 (delicious restaurant).
The neatly prepared side dishes were served on the table, and I could see the care they put into even the basic side dishes. In particular, the stir-fried ham and fish cake was warm and savory, so I kept reaching for it, and it filled me up.
The pickled chili peppers weren't too strongly seasoned but had a good savory flavor, so they went well with the braised cutlassfish.
One of the reasons why this Seogwipo braised cutlassfish restaurant is so good is that they provide french fries and spaghetti as basic side dishes. The crispy fried french fries were lightly seasoned, making them addictive.
The spaghetti has a mild and easy flavor that children would love. It was a style that could be enjoyed even if you usually eat Korean food.
When I mixed and ate these two together, it was surprisingly a combination that went well with Korean food.
The soy beans weren't too salty and had a subtle sweetness, so they felt like homemade food from the old days, making them feel more familiar.
2. Large Whole Cutlassfish Grill
The grilled cutlassfish was really crispy and savory, and I could taste the freshness of the fish. It was a grilled dish, not fried, so it was much easier to enjoy.
Even though it was cooked with low sodium, it was well seasoned, so it was really good to eat with rice, and it was easy to eat because there were almost no bones.
I also ordered the seaweed noodle soup with sea urchin, abalone, and horned turban, which is a popular menu item.
I began to understand why this restaurant is famous for braised cutlassfish in Seogwipo.
When I took a spoonful of the soup, the sea urchin flavor came up strongly, and the savory flavor spread throughout my mouth. If you like seafood like me, I recommend you try it.
3. Neat Seaweed Noodle Soup
The crunchy and chewy seaweed noodles had a really good texture. There was no fishy smell unique to seafood, but only the clean taste of the sea remained.
The sea urchin and horned turban seaweed soup had a warm and deep flavor, and the soft texture and savory flavor went well together.
It felt comforting to eat because it was full of healthy ingredients.
The abalone and crab nutritious porridge was also very generous, and the crab was large, so I could feel the freshness every time I took a spoonful.
Eating the soft white rice porridge with crunchy kimchi made me feel comfortable, and it was perfect for breakfast.
4. Mouthwatering Boneless Braised Cutlassfish
And the real signature dish of this Seogwipo braised cutlassfish restaurant is the spicy and flavorful boneless braised cutlassfish.
The big advantage is that it is easy to eat because it uses cutlassfish freshly caught from the Jeju sea and all the bones have been removed.
The cutlassfish was really soft and moist, and the spicy sauce and savory flavor went together so naturally.
As soon as I took a bite with anticipation, I knew it was a rice thief, and the rice went down smoothly.
5. Braised Cutlassfish with an Attractive Sauce
The sauce wasn't overly stimulating, so it brought out the original taste of the cutlassfish well.
The clean, deep, and heavy taste lingered in my memory for a long time, leaving a subtle aftertaste.
I liked it even more because it was cooked with low sodium, and in the end, it was so addictive that I ended up eating the rice almost like I was inhaling it.
I realized why people looking for a good braised cutlassfish restaurant in Seogwipo always visit Sanbangsan Restaurant.
The scenery, taste, and composition were all perfect, and it naturally fit into my travel schedule, making me even more satisfied.
