Review of Manisan Sanchae Ilsan Branch: A Delicious Korean Meal Beyond Expectations
210 Sannam-ro, Ilsan Seo-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do

Review of Manisan Sanchae Ilsan Branch, visited instead of a Donkatsu restaurant in Ilsan.
A few days ago, I visited Manisan Sanchae Ilsan Branch with close friends for lunch. I'd like to introduce this Korean restaurant, which is loved for its neat and generous set menu. I went there because I heard it was good, and it turned out to be better than the Donkatsu place in Ilsan that my friend had found. So, I'm leaving a review.
1. Manisan Sanchae Ilsan Branch Location
Address: 210 Sannam-ro, Ilsan Seo-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do
Hours: Daily 11:00 - 21:00 (Break time on weekends 15:30 - 17:00)
The restaurant is located near Ilsan Seo-gu and Paju Unjeong. We arrived after a 15-minute drive from Simhak Mountain in Paju, where we had hiked in the morning.
The parking lot is a wide open space, so there was no difficulty parking. As soon as I got out of the car, a breeze blew from the lush forest.
2. Interior Atmosphere
The interior of Manisan Sanchae, which we found instead of the Donkatsu place, had a Hanok (traditional Korean house) feel. The staff greeted us warmly, which was very pleasant.
Also, I was satisfied with the clean indoor restroom. No matter how delicious the food is, if the restroom isn't clean, it doesn't leave a good impression.
3. Menu
We sat down and quickly chose our menu. As a meat lover, I couldn't pass up the Grilled Stone Galbi Set Menu.
The set menu can be ordered according to the number of people, and you can add side dishes. So, we decided to add the best-selling whole Deodeok (lanceolata) root, which was marked in red.
After ordering, I went to the self-service bar that I had noticed earlier. Fresh vegetables and fruits that go well with Korean set meals are provided free of charge.
In addition, you can make your own fried eggs. We decided that the loser of rock-paper-scissors would have to do it as a penalty in the middle of the meal.
4. Herbal Side Dish Set Menu
Soon, the set menu was beautifully completed, and everyone exclaimed in admiration. It was so neatly arranged and delicious-looking.
The first side dish I tried was the burdock fritters. The crispy texture and unique spiciness were perfect for stimulating the appetite.
The pickled Korean artichoke had a subtle sweetness beyond its crunchy texture. I heard that it tastes like sweet potato when eaten with rice.
Lotus root seasoned with perilla seeds was also a delicacy. I realized that visiting this place instead of the Donkatsu restaurant was a good choice.
The kimchi also had a deep, rich flavor that kept me reaching for it. If you need more side dishes, you can ask the staff for a refill.
I also enjoyed the various dishes included in the set menu. Among them, the cold acorn jelly soup was so refreshing that it brought back my lost appetite.
I also enjoyed the sweet and soft pumpkin porridge. It wasn't too sweet, which was nice.
The soybean paste stew, well-known as Korean soul food, seemed to be faithful to the basics rather than being fancy.
5. Grilled Stone Galbi & Whole Deodeok Root
The Stone Galbi, which was pre-grilled, was great because I could eat it right away. I didn't have to bother grilling it on the grill.
The subtle charcoal scent added to the flavor. The juicy and tender Galbi made everyone smile.
In addition, the rice had mugwort (쑥) scent, which made me feel healthy. When I put a piece of Stone Galbi on top and tasted it, I knew this was a great restaurant in Ilsan.
The Deodeok root, which is rich in fiber, was served whole, so the chewy texture was perfect. The balance of bitterness and spicy-sweet seasoning was excellent.
My friend smiled contentedly, saying that he didn't even think about the Donkatsu place he had found.
I thought the unique flavor would go well with a light drink, but I had to drive, so I had to postpone it until next time.
6. Seasonal Vegetable Bibimbap
Seasonal vegetables were prepared for Bibimbap. The beautiful colors made my appetite surge again.
There is gochujang (red pepper paste), but I personally recommend this special sauce. The combination of tangy and slightly spicy flavor was very addictive.
If you mix it well and take a big bite, you can experience healthy Korean food that brings out the original taste of the ingredients.
I didn't stop eating until the bottom of the wooden bowl was visible, adding the remaining Stone Galbi or Deodeok root. Because it was a healthy meal, I didn't feel bloated even after eating a lot. It was definitely different from the Donkatsu restaurant.
7. Final Review
I felt it was a waste to keep this great restaurant in Ilsan to myself, so I'm introducing it like this. I hope you visit with your loved ones and experience a healthy and appetizing Korean set meal!
