As you arrive, the large calligraphy sign exudes a subtle charm. Located on the first floor of the Oakwood building, the exterior is clean and sophisticated.
The restaurant's traditional yet modern interior is perfect for formal gatherings. There is parking available right in front, so bringing a car is worry-free.
As you enter, a banner displays the lunch and dinner menus, showcasing a variety of health-focused dishes, raising our expectations as we walked in.
Stepping inside, you are greeted by a luxurious hallway illuminated by soft lighting, adorned with beautiful pottery that gives the feel of an upscale gallery.
This recommended room restaurant in Yeouido has all seats perfectly separated into private rooms and group areas, making it very comfortable for conversations without disturbances.
The cozy room is equipped with a coat rack and a clean table setting, making it an excellent choice for business meetings or family dinners.
The menu features high-quality eel dishes, ensuring a strong trust in the flavors due to their focus on ingredient quality.
Next, the spicy stir-fried live octopus was served on the table, overflowing with plump octopus pieces that instantly whetted our appetites.
As I tasted the large octopus, its chewy yet tender texture brought joy to my palate. The sweet and spicy special sauce was well absorbed, making it perfect to mix with rice.
All the side dishes accompanying the main course were not overwhelming and were very clean in flavor. The crunchy pickles and green onion kimchi balanced the richness of the eel perfectly.
The chilled muk salad, served with ice floating on top, was a refreshing palate cleanser, with its sweet and sour broth and chewy muk providing a burst of flavor.
The main dish, the grilled eel with sauce, arrived with a rich aroma. The glossy rice and hot soup made for a hearty meal.
Seeing the beautifully grilled eel, thick and meaty, was a delight. The sweet and spicy seasoning made it addictive, keeping my chopsticks busy.
Ordering the set meal also included a bowl of seaweed soup, which felt even more special. The deep and rich flavor of the broth, packed with generous amounts of seaweed, was exceptional.
The tender meat and soft seaweed made for a perfect spoonful, and the deep flavor made me want to finish a whole bowl of rice.
The grilled beef jeon topped with fresh minari was a visual delight. The nutty aroma of the jeon combined with the sharp scent of minari created a fantastic pairing.
Wrapping the fresh minari in the savory beef jeon filled my mouth with fragrance, and the sweet and sour minari balanced the richness, allowing me to enjoy every last bite.
For those who may not prefer eel, the LA galbi set was a delightful alternative, featuring a sweet and savory aroma. The visual appeal was enhanced with sesame seeds and green onion toppings.
The staff conveniently cut the galbi for us, allowing us to enjoy it effortlessly. Each piece was juicy and tender, melting in my mouth.
The seasoning was mild, making it appealing to everyone from children to seniors.
Finally, the health eel soup, bubbling in a stone pot, was visually stunning. Topped generously with chives, its rich aroma filled the entire table.
With plenty of ingredients, the soup was hearty and comforting, providing a clean flavor without any off-putting smells.
The Daedong Eel restaurant in Yeouido, where I took my parents, exceeded expectations in taste, atmosphere, and service. Enjoying heartfelt health food in a cozy private room makes it a place I want to revisit on special occasions. If you need a boost of energy, I highly recommend you visit!
