Recently, I took a short trip to Gangwon Province with my family.

After enjoying the breeze at Naksan Beach, we wanted to have a hearty dinner and discovered a restaurant nearby Naksansa Temple.

We were drawn to Gyungseone Samgyeopsal, craving the aroma of charcoal-grilled meat.

Location

The restaurant is conveniently located near the beach, making its sign visible from a distance. There is ample public parking available, allowing us to park without worry.

Right in front of the restaurant is Naksan Beach, creating a perfect atmosphere for a meal before or after enjoying the sea breeze. The sound of waves nearby makes it an ideal spot for a stroll for those visiting Naksansa Temple.

Interior and Side Dishes

Upon entering, I was greeted by neatly arranged tables, giving a clean impression. The spacious interior allows for comfortable seating, even for larger groups.

One wall features a self-serve side dish bar, allowing guests to help themselves to a variety of delicious accompaniments.

Main Course

We ordered a variety of meats, including Hanwoo brisket, pork belly, frozen pork belly, and flower pork belly, which allowed us to sample different flavors. The vibrant colors of the meat were enticing even before grilling.

The spicy bean sprout salad was well-seasoned and awakened our appetites. The crunchy texture combined with a spicy aroma made it irresistible.

The pickled crown daisy had a delightful crunch, making it a perfect accompaniment to the meat. Its savory taste was refreshing as a palate cleanser.

The fernbrake salad had a subtle sesame oil fragrance, adding a pleasant flavor. It was seasoned just right for adult tastes.

The steamed egg in a stone pot was fluffy and inviting, making it hard to resist. The rich aroma of the soybean paste stew filled the table, making it a perfect complement to the meal.

Grilling Begins

The platter of Hanwoo brisket, pork belly, and frozen pork belly came beautifully arranged, prompting applause from our table. The different textures of the meats made it a delightful decision on where to start.

The grilled vegetables, including mushrooms, onions, potatoes, and pumpkin, were perfectly portioned, ensuring we had no worries about side dishes.

The grilling method using aluminum foil added a sensory experience to the meal, enhancing the atmosphere.

Grilling the kimchi alongside the meat transformed its flavor, adding a tangy softness that paired perfectly with the grilled meat.

Watching the meat sizzle and the fat render was a feast for the senses. The aroma was reminiscent of charcoal grilling, filling the air with delightful fragrance.

When I picked up a piece of well-cooked pork belly, its delicate texture was tempting. Taking a bite released the savory fat, instantly brightening my mood.

We enjoyed the Hanwoo brisket and frozen pork belly wrapped in lettuce and perilla leaves, topped with fernbrake and dipping sauce. The combination of flavors was delightful.

We also ordered 150g of seasoned pork skin, which came pre-grilled, making it easier to cook further. The savory seasoning made our mouths water even before cooking.

Coating the pork skin lightly with soybean powder before taking a bite was a new experience, and surprisingly, it paired well.

Conclusion and Dessert

For dessert, we had cold noodles topped with egg, cucumber, and radish, served in a refreshing icy broth. The ice melted, cleansing our palates after the meat.

The spicy mixed noodles were coated perfectly with seasoning, making them visually appealing and appetizing.

Finally, we stir-fried leftover rice on the grill, creating a delightful aroma. Scraping the slightly crispy bits added to the flavor, making for a satisfying finish to our meal.

Overall Impression

Enjoying a drink alongside our meal made for a clean and pleasant finish. Dining with family in such a warm atmosphere created lasting memories.

If you're planning a visit to Naksansa Temple, I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant.
