Recommended Korean Traditional Meal in Yeosu: Cheongryujeong
전남 여수시 돌산읍 평사리 1405-56
청류정물회 돌산점

A friend recommended a Korean traditional meal restaurant in Yeosu that she had been wanting to visit, so we decided to go together last weekend.
As seafood lovers, we were immediately drawn to Cheongryujeong, known for its generous portions and fresh ingredients.
From easy access and spacious parking to a table full of satisfying dishes, this visit left a strong impression and made us eager to return.
How to Get to Cheongryujeong in Yeosu
The restaurant we visited is called Yeosu Hwaetjip Cheongryujeong Mulhoe, located in the Dolsan area.
Before going, I read many reviews praising its generous servings and consistently good flavors, which naturally raised my expectations.
It is not far from Yi Sun-sin Square, and the drive itself was enjoyable, with views of the sea and surrounding mountains along the way.
Cheongryujeong operates daily from 9 AM to 10 PM without breaks, which made it easy for us to plan an early weekend visit.
Spacious Parking Even on Busy Weekends
Since it was the weekend, many customers arrived around lunchtime, but parking was surprisingly stress-free.
The parking lot was very spacious, allowing us to park quickly without circling around, which already made a good first impression.
The restaurant itself is located on the second floor, so after parking, we entered on the first floor and went straight upstairs.
From Takeout Corner to Celebrity Signatures
Cheongryujeong is also popular for delivery and takeout, and there is a dedicated corner for this purpose.
The neatly packed kimchi and local specialties on display made me think they would be perfect souvenirs to take home.
As expected from a well-known restaurant, the walls were filled with celebrity signatures, showing how widely recognized this place is.
Spacious and Comfortable Dining Area
The second floor serves as the main dining area and features a large hall with plenty of seating.
There were many large tables suitable for families or groups, and each table was covered, keeping the space clean and organized.
Tablets were provided for ordering, which made the process simple and convenient even in such a spacious restaurant.
A Table Filled with Fresh Seafood Dishes
Once the food arrived, the large table was quickly filled with generous portions, making me feel satisfied even before taking the first bite.
Just looking at the spread made it clear why Cheongryujeong is often recommended for Korean traditional meals in Yeosu.
There were various seafood dishes, and despite being sensitive to strong smells, I noticed no fishy odor at all, which spoke volumes about the freshness.
Balanced Side Dishes and Marinated Crab
The vegetable side dishes were crunchy and refreshing, helping cleanse the palate between bites.
I especially enjoyed the marinated crab, which was not just spicy but deeply savory and well-balanced.
Thick-Cut Sashimi and Grilled Fish
The highlight of the meal was the sashimi, beautifully arranged on a large plate.
The thick slices were perfect for sharing and delivered a rich texture and flavor with every bite, especially when dipped in wasabi soy sauce.
We also ordered grilled fish, another popular menu item here, and its vibrant presentation immediately caught our attention.
The fish was grilled until crisp on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside, making it incredibly satisfying.
Overall Impression of This Korean Traditional Meal
Placing generous slices of fish over rice created a salty, comforting combination that felt deeply satisfying.
I truly enjoyed this hearty seafood-focused Korean meal at Cheongryujeong and would love to visit again with my family next time.
