Peking Duck Delight: A Culinary Journey at Fei Hong Lou One Grove, Magok

Hello everyone!
Today, I'd like to introduce Fei Hong Lou One Grove, a Chinese restaurant in Magok that I highly recommend. It's a fantastic place to dine near Magok Station.
This time, I had the pleasure of enjoying their Peking Duck. Beyond the Peking Duck, we also savored the duck stir-fry, *jjajangmyeon* (black bean noodles), *jjamppong* (spicy seafood noodle soup), and enjoyed it all with thin pancakes. Everything was so delicious that I just had to share this Magok Station gem with you all!
Let's take a look inside the restaurant. The interior is quite luxurious.

It also has private dining rooms. If you'd like to dine in a private room, be sure to make a reservation.
Being a high-end Chinese restaurant in Magok, it's frequently used for formal occasions like family introductions and company dinners. For room reservations, visit Fei Hong Lou One Grove.
I made a reservation through CatchTable and was pleased to find that our table was ready upon arrival, making for a comfortable dining experience.

As you enter, the sophisticated interior immediately catches your eye. The elegant atmosphere makes it an excellent choice for formal gatherings or meetings. The private rooms also provide a quiet and intimate setting for conversation and dining.
The menu is available on a tablet, and they also have paper menus available.
The main dishes include their signature Black Truffle Peking Duck and regular Peking Duck. For the second course, you can choose from duck stir-fry or crispy duck bone fritters.
We ordered the regular Peking Duck, so we opted for the duck stir-fry as our second course.
Please note that Peking Duck requires a reservation at least one day in advance, as it's prepared through a special aging process and roasted in a traditional oven.

Side dishes included cold cuts, *eoyang gazi* (braised eggplant), soft shell crab, and freshwater eel. They also offer course menus from A to C.
They have a wide variety of dishes like *kkwabaerou* (sweet and sour pork), *dongpayuk* (braised pork belly), *lajogi* (spicy chili chicken), *kanpunggi* (sweet and sour chicken), and *tangsuyuk* (sweet and sour pork), available in different sizes.
First, let me show you the Peking Duck. They presented the whole duck before carving it.
At first, it was a bit intimidating, but I actually liked it because I love the neck part.
The neck was long, with plenty of meat, which I enjoyed very much. The Peking Duck was served with the skin and meat separately.

Serving the meat separately made it much more moist, while the skin was crispy, creating a harmonious texture.
Peking Duck is typically eaten wrapped in thin pancakes, and the combination of crispy and moist was truly delicious.
The pancakes are similar to tortillas, and each one is individually wrapped in paper, making them easy to handle. I appreciated this thoughtful touch, and we had fun wrapping and eating them.
There was absolutely no gamey smell, and the duck didn't have a strong flavor, making it easy to eat like chicken.
Next up was the duck stir-fry.

This stir-fried dish was packed with duck meat, mushrooms, and vegetables. They said they use the meat removed from the duck bones.
It had a spicy kick and a smoky aroma, making it a great choice for those who enjoy seafood flavors. Overall, it was a mild and universally appealing dish that even those who don't typically enjoy duck might appreciate.
For our meal, we ordered *jjajangmyeon* and *jjamppong*.

The *jjajangmyeon* was *yuni jjajang*, packed with beef, and the *jjamppong* was a seafood *jjamppong* brimming with seafood.
Packed with mussels, shrimp, squid, and various other seafood, it was refreshing and enjoyable.
Overall, I highly recommend Fei Hong Lou One Grove as a fantastic restaurant near Magok Station, perfect for important occasions like company dinners or family introductions.
I enjoyed my meal so much that I confidently recommend it as a top duck restaurant, Chinese restaurant, and venue for company gatherings in Magok.
