Jamsil-saenae Korean BBQ with Private Rooms
Hello, I'm Pyre Puppy. I recently visited a galbi (Korean BBQ ribs) restaurant in Jamsil-saenae, Songpa-gu, Seoul, that has been operating for two generations, using the owner's mother's original recipe. It's not just another pretty restaurant with mediocre food, but a real gem loved by people of all ages. This Jamsil-saenae BBQ spot was even featured on the YouTube show 'Foodieland' as part of the 'Get Out of Business' project. It's conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Jamsil-saenae Station Exit 2.
The entrance exudes a classic, old-fashioned charm. They specialize in fresh galbi.
They offer lunch specials from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM, including dishes like Grandma's Cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew), Galbi Kimchi Stew, and Spicy Pork Stir-fry. These are great for a midday meal, and they also offer takeout at a discounted price.
One wall is covered with autographs from various celebrities who frequent this restaurant.
Inside the restaurant: I visited around 5 PM, and as soon as customers started coming in, it was almost full by 6 PM. Reservations are a must for this Jamsil fresh galbi specialist. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and has plenty of tables, making it a great spot for a date.

They have private rooms inside, making it perfect for group gatherings and company dinners. Enjoy dinner in a private dining room with seating for 12.
Their Korean pork is wet-aged for 100 hours and dry-aged for 24 hours to enhance the flavor. They also make a variety of side dishes and sauces by hand every day. Instead of ordinary marinated galbi sauce, they offer a healthy and delicious version, making this a great place to enjoy authentic galbi.
There are restrooms inside the restaurant for your convenience.
About the Menu: Okbong Galbi is a fresh galbi restaurant run by a son who inherited his mother's recipe. They use premium domestic pork (grade 1 or higher), aged to perfection for a tender and juicy taste. They offer Aged Fresh Galbi, King Fresh Galbi, Steak Pork Shoulder, Handmade Marinated Galbi, and LA Galbi.

They also sell side dishes like honeycomb pork rinds, marinated crab, cheese and fish roe steamed eggs, spicy gochujang stew, galbi kimchi stew, Grandma's Cheonggukjang, and cold noodles. They also have a variety of alcoholic beverages, making it a great place for company dinners and group gatherings.
The side dishes were plentiful and well-prepared, served with various sauces.

They offer seasoned green onion salad, green onion kimchi, white kimchi, pickled crown daisy stems, corn salad, and salted seafood with sauces.

I recommend the fresh galbi!

I ordered the domestic grade 1 aged fresh galbi. They only sell 30 servings of this per day. It came with corn, onions, and king oyster mushrooms. The quality of the meat was excellent, and the portion size was generous for the price.
After placing the grill on the charcoal and heating it up, the staff kindly put the meat on the grill for us.

I also ordered the galbi kimchi stew as a side dish. It came out in a large earthenware pot.
It was packed with tofu, meat, and napa cabbage kimchi, and the broth was spicy and flavorful.

The cheese and fish roe steamed egg came in a large earthenware pot, topped with plenty of cheese and fish roe. It was savory and rich.

The staff provides grilling service, cutting the perfectly grilled galbi into bite-sized pieces so you can enjoy your dinner comfortably. I recommend this place for business meetings because of the grilling service. They put the cooked galbi on the grill so it doesn't burn.
The juicy galbi was delicious dipped in salt. You can truly enjoy the flavor of the meat.

It's even more delicious when eaten with seasoned green onion salad and green onion kimchi.
The handmade marinated galbi is addicting!

This is handmade marinated fresh pork galbi. The quality of the meat was excellent, and it was well-seasoned with just the right amount of flavor.
The marinated galbi grilled over charcoal has a smoky flavor that makes it even more delicious. The staff grilled it perfectly so it wouldn't burn, making it easy to eat.

The perfectly grilled marinated galbi had an addicting flavor that kept me coming back for more.
I also ordered bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles).

It was even more delicious when eaten with the well-cooked marinated galbi. The generous portion of noodles made it a filling meal.
