A few weeks ago, on the way back from Eurwangri Beach with friends, we stopped by a famous restaurant in Yeongjongdo. I'd like to introduce O2 Jjukkumi Yeongjong, where I fell in love with the smoky flavor of the spicy stir-fried octopus (jjukkumi bokkeum) and the incredibly delicious seafood pancake (haemul pajeon).

Hopeful tomorrow

O2 Jjukkumi Yeongjong

Address: 81, Unjung-ro, Jung-gu, Incheon, South Korea

Hours: Daily 11:00 - 20:30 (Last order at 20:00)

The restaurant was about a 25-minute drive from Eurwangri Beach. The large sign with the restaurant's name on the rooftop of the single building was easily visible from afar.

There was plenty of parking space, so it was easy to park. Even though we visited at opening time, there were already quite a few cars, which made me feel like we had come to the right place.

As expected of a famous restaurant in Yeongjongdo, the inside was already bustling with customers. Despite being busy, the bright smiles of the staff who greeted us warmly are still memorable.

Inside, there were private group rooms available. It seemed like a popular place for year-end gatherings, as you could enjoy a private meal while looking out at the beautiful scenery.

We didn't have to think much about the menu and decided on the hearty set menu. We also added a seafood pancake to enjoy a more filling feast.

The restaurant also operates a cafe on the second floor, and you get a free Americano with a receipt review event. There was no reason not to participate, so I took pictures of the food and wrote an honest review.

Soon after, the table was set with the spicy stir-fried octopus set menu, which naturally stopped our conversation. From the visuals alone, I could feel why so many people consider it a top restaurant in Yeongjongdo.

Basic side dishes were available at the self-service bar, and they were all very fresh, including the radish salad. There was also glass noodles salad with a crunchy texture.

The cabbage salad served as an excellent appetizer, perfectly preparing my empty stomach with fresh cabbage.

The steamed egg in a hot pot was impressive with its generous portion. The soft taste and the quantity filled more than half of my satisfaction.

The whole fried king prawns looked appetizing. I could taste the golden batter and the plump shrimp meat.

It was good to dip it in the special soy sauce, but the crispy fried food was also suitable for neutralizing the spiciness of the octopus. It played a significant role in the meal.

The seaweed cucumber cold soup is the best for stimulating appetite regardless of the season. It provided immediate hydration to my tired body and was excellent for quenching thirst.

I ordered the seafood pancake because there were many reviews praising it, and I could sense its crispiness just by looking at it. If I hadn't ordered it that day, I would have regretted it.

The fun part was tearing it apart with chopsticks. The large pieces of octopus studded throughout were generous for the price.

The combination of crispy outside and chewy inside, along with the sweet flavor of the grilled scallions, was a hit. And it was also delicious to separate the octopus and eat it with red pepper paste.

The spicy stir-fried octopus at this Yeongjongdo restaurant was a visual delight. The red octopus, covered in spicy sauce, was tempting.

As soon as I put a piece of octopus in my mouth, a richer flavor than expected rushed in. I could taste the juicy flavor beyond the chewy texture.

The vegetables added a variety of flavors to the dish. Above all, the smoky flavor from being stir-fried over a direct flame kept my appetite going.

Dipping the fried shrimp in the stir-fried sauce was also a delicacy. The combination was so addictive that I ended up ordering more fried food.

Afterward, I took a large portion of rice and octopus into a large bowl. The portion was generous for three people, so we could all take as much as we wanted without hesitation.

Sprinkling the well-mixed bibimbap with savory seaweed flakes made me feel full. I moved my spoon non-stop and enjoyed the rare happiness to the fullest.

Taking a big spoonful of the red-colored rice, I was satisfied with the much deeper flavor than I had imagined. It's a top-notch restaurant in Yeongjongdo that I hope you'll visit.

After paying, I showed the receipt review to the staff at the cafe on the second floor. I was impressed by the sophisticated interior, and it was fun to look around at the crafts everywhere.

I ordered an extra cup of Americano in addition to the one I received for the review, and I was touched by the handmade cookies they gave me as a service. We had a successful tea time while chatting.

It already records annual sales of 2.5 billion won in Gumi, and the owner travels to all three branches to maintain the same taste. I hope you will visit this Yeongjongdo restaurant, which offers delicious spicy stir-fried octopus that everyone will enjoy.
