Must-Visit Spots and Unique Experiences in Mangwon-dong, Seoul

Essential Course for a Seoul Trip: Must-Visit Restaurants and Unique Experiences in Mangwon Market
Recommended Date Course in Mangridan-gil
To celebrate the New Year, I was pondering a date course with my husband, and we inevitably found ourselves in Mangwon-dong. Having lived here for a few years, it holds many romantic memories for us. Recently, it seems to have become even hipper, attracting more foreign visitors. From the classic eateries of Mangwon Market to the latest photo spots in Mangridan-gil, I've prepared an exciting date course to share with you!
Essential Course: Hunhun Hotteok
Operating Hours: 11:00 AM - 8:30 PM (Check for holidays)
Location: 22 Po-eun-ro 8-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul
As soon as we arrived in Mangwon-dong, we parked at the public parking lot between World Cup Market and Mangwon Market. Our first stop was Hunhun Hotteok!
There are many delicious places in Mangwon-dong, but this one always comes to mind first. Initially located within Mangwon Market, it has now moved to the basement level of a corner building in the middle alley of the market.
The price for a basic hotteok is 1,500 KRW, which is quite reasonable these days. But here, you get something special!
✔️ Corn Honey Hotteok 1,500 KRW
✔️ Cheese Honey Hotteok 2,000 KRW
✔️ Injeolmi Honey Hotteok 2,000 KRW
✔️ Oreo Honey Hotteok 2,000 KRW
✔️ Seed Honey Hotteok 2,000 KRW
✔️ Ice Cream Honey Hotteok 4,000 KRW
Having tried various flavors, I still believe the original corn hotteok is the best! (The ice cream hotteok is a summer treat!)
A few weeks ago, we visited on a weekend and encountered a long wait, so we headed home empty-handed. However, visiting on a weekday was a breeze with a shorter wait time. The young owners are incredibly fast, preparing your hotteok right after you order.
This thick honey hotteok is something you must try!
Hunhun Hotteok has been a favorite of mine since it first opened, and it seems to have only gotten better over time. If you're feeling down, Hunhun Hotteok is the place to go.
Next, we headed to the original branch of Uirak in Mangwon Market.
Uirak has become a franchise, and while its locations have increased, this original spot still holds a special charm. We ordered the classic fried chili peppers along with the new Uirak apple makgeolli.
After enjoying our meal, we visited Photo Lab Plus Library in Mangwon for some fun couple photos. They offer various themed photo booths, and we ended up loving the cinema-themed one. The results were fantastic, and we had a blast!
In summary, my husband and I had a wonderful day exploring the must-visit restaurants and new hot spots in Mangwon-dong. It’s a place where old favorites and new trends continue to emerge, making it a recommended destination in Seoul.
