Mellow Table: A Taste of Italy in Sanbon, Crafted by an Owner Chef

With the weather getting cooler, I've been craving a warm plate of pasta. So, I set out to find a great pasta place in Sanbon.
Mellow Table had already gained a reputation on social media, and after visiting, I can confidently say it deserves the title of a top Sanbon pasta restaurant.
Location & Atmosphere
Name: Mellow Table
Address: 1st Floor, 109, Sanbon-ro 339, Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do
Hours: Tuesday - Sunday 11:00 - 21:00 (Break time 14:30 - 16:30, Closed Mondays)
Located a 5-minute walk from Sanbon Station Exit 3, it's on the roadside opposite Gunpo City Hall with a noticeable interior.
They have baby chairs available, and the interior has a distinct Christmas vibe. The restaurant is cozy with about six 2-person tables, creating a great atmosphere for a date.
Mellow Table - Homemade Sauce Made with Care Every Morning
All the dishes at Mellow Table are prepared with homemade sauces made fresh every morning by the owner chef. Many restaurants often use factory-made sauces, but here, they insist on preparing fresh ingredients in the kitchen every morning and simmering the sauces they will use that day.
Thanks to this, the depth of the pasta sauce is truly different. From the first twirl of pasta on my fork, I could taste the savory flavor and aroma. It tasted like real sauce.
There was no artificial taste at all, and the natural sweetness and acidity of the tomatoes were perfectly preserved. The owner chef emphasizes the importance of the basics. Their philosophy of not making a meal carelessly and preparing it with care like a homemade meal using fresh ingredients is evident.
With such sincerity, it's no wonder they're known as a top Sanbon pasta restaurant.
Menu
There's a kiosk on the table, making it easy to order. You can use the kiosk to order and pay at once. In the order details, you can specify the spiciness, quantity, and add bread. It's nice that these additions are free.
The Touch of a 5-Star Hotel Chef
The biggest draw of this place is the owner chef. Their photo and experience are displayed, which inspires confidence in the food.
The chef has worked at 5-star hotels such as Lotte, InterContinental, Sheraton, and Marriott, as well as Unilever Food Solutions, a foreign food company.
"If you make food with good ingredients and care, customers will eventually recognize it." That one statement made it clear why this place has maintained its regulars for so long.
Ordered Menu
I ordered seafood aglio olio, Burrata cheese salad, and mushroom rigatoni & gnocchi.
While waiting for my order, I looked around the interior. The combination of red and green in the interior and the red ribbon on the lampshade were impressive.
The open kitchen allowed me to dine with peace of mind about hygiene.
They prepared warm water because the weather was getting colder. The attentive service was pleasant.
They have a Naver receipt review event where you can choose between wine or a side menu as a service. I participated in the review event and received white wine as a service, which went very well with the pasta.
The basic table setting looks like this.
The drinks were prepared first. It's refreshing and delicious.
This is the Burrata cheese salad. Mellow Table uses only fresh ingredients sourced from nearby farms for all vegetables and herbs. The vegetables in the salad were exceptionally fresh, and that's because they are sourced the same day. It wasn't greasy and stayed clean until the end.
These fine details are what distinguish a true Sanbon pasta restaurant.
Doesn't it look fresh at a glance?
This is the seafood aglio olio pasta. I don't usually eat seafood well, but I really enjoyed the Mellow Table seafood aglio olio pasta. It included squid, whelk, mushrooms, and shrimp, and the seafood flavor was quite strong, making it rich and delicious.
Perhaps because the seafood was so fresh, I ate it without thinking.
This is the mushroom rigatoni & gnocchi. I used to like the truffle mushroom risotto here, and this is the rigatoni version with the same sauce. The cream is rich and savory. It goes well with mushrooms. If you eat it with the basic bread that comes with the pasta, it's a taste you could keep eating.
I had an orange drink with my meal today because I had another appointment, but I was a little sad that I couldn't have white wine with my friend whom I hadn't seen in a while.
Mellow Table isn't just a place to eat; it's like a little Italy where you can relax and enjoy yourself. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy, making it a great place for dates, family meals, and gatherings with friends, bringing happy smiles.
