Mangwon Gup

Address: 53 Mangwon-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, 1st floor

Hello, it's Youngdori!

Today, I'm reviewing a place that's a rare gem in Mangwon-dong: a Korean BBQ restaurant that specializes in pork and unique cuts of beef, and they even grill it for you!

It's called 'Mangwon Gup'.

Location: 421-15, Mangwon-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul

Hours: 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Closed every Monday)

Features: Birthday benefits, reservations, group dining available, no parking

The exterior of the restaurant is so cute and charming! ( ˊ ᵕ ˋ ) ♡

I liked that the tables were large and well-spaced.

Here's the menu.

You can even order the menu items by the serving! That's amazing... ദ്ദി₍ᵔ- ̫-ᵔ₎ We ordered two servings: chewy pork and pork belly.

They have several events going on! If you write a review on Naver, you get soy sauce noodles. If you write a review on Instagram, you get garlic rice!

If you visit on your birthday, they'll take a Polaroid picture for you and even give you a highball, so keep that in mind! • • ????????

I opened the utensil holder to get a spoon, and what do you know... there's a hair tie! Their thoughtfulness is insane... I'm going to tie my hair up and dig in.

The side dishes were neatly presented.

The seasoning on the scallion salad was absolutely incredible ㅠ ㅠ

I usually hate scallion salad, but I kept wrapping the meat in it and eating it...

This is seasoned egg!

They give it to you before you eat, supposedly to protect the stomachs of those who are drinking...(according to another blogger...)

I was so hungry that I ordered the glutinous barley soybean paste rice soup (₩7,000).

When I saw it on a blog (based on a post from last December...), it came as a service item.

But we had to pay for it... it doesn't come as a service item...

It was delicious, but the barley rice made the rice grains scatter! The texture was unfamiliar.

It felt different from the rice soups I usually eat.

Here are the one serving of chewy pork (₩15,000) and one serving of pork belly (₩15,000) that we ordered!

Can you see the color of the meat? ???? ..

Gup Highball (₩3,900)

I ordered a highball that wasn't too sweet to have with the food!!

A neatly prepared table setting...

They grill all the meat for you and even brush it with a special sauce before grilling it again!

That seasoning is the real key ????????

It tastes like galbiㅜㅜ Once you eat it, you can't eat regular meat... you just keep dipping it and grilling it...

It's tastier than the seasoning at most galbi restaurants ㅜㅜㅜ

This is the soy sauce noodle soup (₩3,000) that I received for writing a review.

When I started to feel a little greasy from the meat,

Taking a bite of this was refreshing... it wasn't bad.

Will I revisit? ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ (5/5)

A clean taste without any unnecessary frills!!!!

If I ever have to eat meat in Mangwon, I'm definitely going here from now on...♡
