After a long time, I took a trip to Dongseongro!
I was looking for a restaurant where I could go with my dog, Huchu, and I found a pet-friendly restaurant.
Gwajeong specializes in smoked Gyukatsu and is the second brand of the popular Fukuoka Hormone restaurant next door!!
That makes me so curious about the taste!
Even though we went almost right when it opened,
There were only a few tables left in the store, with people dining alone, couples, and even groups.
Gwajeong in Dongseongro is a pet-friendly restaurant,
so we confidently walked in with Huchu!
[But secretly, we sat in the corner as much as possible, just in case anyone felt uncomfortable 😉]
The menu is largely divided into three parts:
Gyukatsu
Teppanyaki Steak
Seafood Rice Bowl
Looking around,
Gyukatsu is the most popular, and
Teppanyaki Steak and Sweet Shrimp Salmon Rice Bowl
also seemed to be secretly popular.
There is a self-service bar
where you can find salt, wasabi, furikake,
rice, and kimchi.
They also thoughtfully provide aprons and hair ties!
The owner even has stain remover ready
Such a thoughtful person!
We ordered the basic Gyukatsu set menu,
and I was satisfied just looking at the neat set.
I was so excited to eat Gyukatsu after a long time!
Look at the beautiful marbling!
Grill it to my desired doneness,
dip it in a little pink salt, and eat it in one big bite with a spoonful of rice!
Gwajeong Gyukatsu in Banwoldang
I can understand why there were so many people from the opening time...
I like my meat medium-rare,
and the meat was so tender
and the coating was crispy.
I didn't rest my hands once and kept eating, and I even stole my sister's Gyukatsu!
That was me 🙋♀️
Huchu was excited smelling the meat 🐶
After eating all the meat, I added a poached egg and warm green tea to the remaining rice
and made ochazuke,
which was great for soothing the stomach that can feel greasy after eating Gyukatsu.
What is the perfect finish here?
Sweet potato sweet jelly!
It's handmade,
and when you put the sweet jelly in your mouth,
it melts softly
with a subtle sweetness,
making it perfect as a palate cleanser.
Next time I come to Dongseongro,
I'll definitely revisit Gwajeong Gyukatsu 1000%
