Jung So Galbi Eungam: A Premium Korean BBQ Experience in Seoul

Craving galbi, I recently visited Jung So Galbi in Eungam and wanted to share my experience! This restaurant offers a clean atmosphere and premium beef, making it a highly satisfying dining spot.
Here's my honest review of the *toshisal* (hanging tender), *galbisal* (boneless short rib), and *doenjang jjigae* (soybean paste stew), along with information on location, menu, and tips for enjoying your meal!
1. Location & Parking
Jung So Galbi Eungam is located somewhere between Yeokchon Station (Line 6), Eungam Station (Line 6), and Nokbeon Station (Line 3). It's about a 10-15 minute walk from each, making it easily accessible even without a car.
The restaurant offers parking for two cars in front. Additional parking is available at nearby paid parking lots. We parked at the Emart Eungam branch after our meal to do some shopping!
They also have a waiting area in front of the restaurant, complete with deodorizer and a mirror – a thoughtful touch!
2. Atmosphere
From the outside, Jung So Galbi Eungam has a simple exterior, suggesting they focus more on the quality of the meat than flashy decor.

Inside, the tables are spaced comfortably, and the overall ambiance is clean and inviting. It's a great place to enjoy a meal with family, friends, or as a couple.
There's also a self-serve bar, restroom signs, and after-dinner candies.
The owner and staff are incredibly friendly, making for a pleasant first impression and starting our meal off right. :)
3. Menu
Jung So Galbi used to be a franchise, but it transitioned to an independent operation in March of this year. Rather than expanding the menu, they've streamlined it to focus on four types of beef and *dweji galbi* (pork ribs), emphasizing freshness and quality.
Here's a breakdown:
- Toshisal (Hanging Tender): Extremely fresh, sold on the same day it's prepared to prevent discoloration.
- Galbisal (Boneless Short Rib): Only *hwangje galbisal* (Emperor's boneless short rib) is used.
- Wagyu Sirloin: OEM packaged in 480g portions to maintain freshness.
- Dweji Galbi (Pork Ribs): Made with domestic pork, custom cut and seasoned.

All beef is top-grade Black Angus (also known as "White House Beef" or "Omaha Beef"), and this restaurant is reportedly the only one in Korea that handles it in a chilled state.
A truly high-quality beef experience in Eungam!
The owner's passion was evident when describing the meat, reflecting his dedication and pride in the food. :)
They also offer lunch menus, so keep that in mind!
We ordered the toshisal (200g), galbisal (200g), and doenjang jjigae.
4. Taste & Honest Review
The onion sauce and *dotorimuk* (acorn jelly) sauce are made in-house, and even the *yeolmu* (young radish kimchi) is homemade – a signature touch.
They don't take any shortcuts with their sauces! From top to bottom:
- A spicy soy sauce made with a sushi chef's touch.
- Wasabi sauce made by simmering soy sauce, mushrooms, and various ingredients.
- Salt made by roasting sun-dried sea salt with wine.
- *Ssamjang* (soybean paste dip) made with a special sauce.

I was impressed by the owner's attention to detail and thoughtfulness. When the owner isn't present, customers receive a note and a complimentary asa-V drink, showing the owner's dedication and responsibility.
They also provide puzzles for children to keep them entertained during meal times, with rewards for quick completion!
I heard they have even more toys available, making it a great restaurant to dine with children. :) The owner's meticulous care truly stands out!
Time for the meat!
The color of the meat is exceptional. ㅜㅜ
First, the tender and chewy toshisal! They recommended grilling it quickly on both sides.

The meat melts in your mouth with a rich, juicy flavor.
Enjoy the toshisal with wasabi sauce or salt, according to your preference.
Next, the galbisal with its deep flavor and savory taste!
The texture is firm and chewy, highlighting the high quality of the meat.

The galbisal pairs well with the spicy soy sauce. Try putting a little spicy soy sauce on rice, then topping it with wasabi and galbisal for a beef sushi experience!
Following the owner's recommendation, it was so delicious that I ordered another bowl of rice! LOL
And the savory and clean doenjang jjigae warmed me right up~~
Meat + doenjang jjigae is always a winning combination, right?
Seeing how much we enjoyed the meal, the owner generously gave us a serving of seasoned galbi as a service! How generous! ♡

I was so full, but the seasoning wasn't overpowering and perfectly infused, making it very tasty!
For dessert, they offered *jjondeugi* (chewy grilled rice cake)!! How thoughtful is that?
We grilled it over the fire and finished our meal perfectly~~
5. Reservations
When we visited, there was a group, highlighting Jung So Galbi as an excellent choice for group dinners or family gatherings.
As mentioned earlier, they cater well to children, making it a comfortable place to dine out with young kids.

Jung So Galbi has recently gained popularity in Eungam, so there may be a wait on weekends. Reservations are recommended!
(For group reservations of 16 or more, please contact the restaurant directly!)
After just one bite, I understood why Jung So Galbi is a local favorite! It's the best meat restaurant in Eungam!
From the fresh meat to the special sauces and homemade side dishes, every aspect reflects care and dedication.
Jung So Galbi is a local recommendation for Eungam! Highly recommended for those looking for beef in Eungam!
I confidently recommend it and conclude my review. :)
